any idea of the cost of 27" 1440p ips/tn panel?

Ts can get a 27inch tn panel 1440p at 144hz for only $698 excluding coupons.

This price range also is for benq XL2730. Tn panel also.

Don't get a TN panel since you use it to watch movies and dramas.
Did some googling for 144hz 1440p

Apparently for color vibrance = ips
1ms = tn
4-5ms = ips

The thing is for 3-4ms difference and the color vibrance not sure izzit justifiable for extra few hundred bucks.

There is also viewing angles which is one of the main advantages of IPS. Unless you are looking at your monitor straight on all the time don't get a TN panel. You will notice a colour shift if for example you lean back all the way on your chair or watch a movie from your bed due to the poor viewing angles of TN.

Agree with IPS.

But VA panels are good alternative too

No TN pls
