For those who wanna see the monitor, I will have to confirm again if I can accommodate due to time and space constraints. No promises ok
Anyway to add on from Taugeh:
1) I strongly advise getting from redcap on ebay simply because he was prompt with his replies and also quite understanding as initially I thought I had a faulty monitor. For example he waived the one week return policy. Offer him the price, I got USD320 for non-tempered and USD350 for tempered (non-pivot).
You may get cheaper on gmarket but I don't know how is their 'after-sales'.
2) The reason I got crossover is for its build quality. The frame is metal but it's steel (most likely) unlike apple cinema display (aluminium) so it's hefty.
This is the crossover with my samsung. Plastic vs metal, sleek vs solid, light vs heavy.
Much sturdier stand then my samsung, it used to rock on my cheap ikea table but this irritating problem is solved by crossover.
3) However their QC is definitely not great as since metal frame is slightly deformed at edges causing a gap with the panel. Not a common problem though, just seems I am unlucky to get a set so yeah.
4) So why I didn't send back? Simply because of the panel. I can't seem to find a dead pixel but i'm quite sure there is 1 or 2. Maybe my panel is "perfect panel", all the better; Or take it as I cock eye.
For SGD$450, I felt that the panel quality is reason enough to keep the monitor. Yeah like some said, looks like apple cinema display. I have used both ips and tn panels, simply put that tn panels you will forget after going to ips.
There is slight backlight bleeding on the bottom right but not a deal breaker for me. My samsung also had backlight bleeding...
5) No OSD for the monitor, simple power and brightness controls. Use an ICC profile (From overclock.net) to correct the colours, works for me.
6) Gaming wise, the response time is great and I did not experience input lag. Playing bf3 and witcher 2 now and they look great on the croossover. Using a slightly OC-ed 6970 but it struggles to keep framerates above 60+ so yeah you might have to drop resoulutions to 1440p ir 1080p.
So end of day whether you are willing to take the risk. It's a big risk to some I understand then I suggest you go SLS and get something there. If you wanna gamble then by all means get a crossover or any other brand off ebay/gmarket.
You come my place I let you kiss kiss sayang sayang my monitor also no point cos end of day there is no guarantee to what you'll receive but that's life right haha. Hope this helps!
Advise from someone whom actually bought the item aka ME.
1) Don't go around asking for MO, waste of time, and also not much difference in price pay.
2) Try the "Make an Offer" if accepted, good, if not try again. I managed to get the 27q at USD $320.
3) Inform seller to put a price below SGD $400, mine was sent as USD $150. Seller will definitely help out on that.
4) Don't expect a perfect monitor, even tho its stated as Zero Dead Pixel by some sellers, once it's in your hand and you found one of some dead pixel, sending it back gonna cost you money. So buying it will be at your own risk.
5) Don't need a high end GFX card, as long can plug DUAL DVI D is enough, also gaming wise, don't play at native res, set your game res lower.
