I doubt you can lower the price anymore from such sellers. The most is probably $10 - $20 off the TOTAL price (from what I remembered someone who used the "make offer" price for 3 crossovers)

Well ... when I was in my teens .... I felt exactly like you do now. Part & Parcel of life.

Bitch about it? Too much & too long. Well, people don't like to work .... people like what we get at the end of the month after working ... which is salary ... which is $$ ... which allow us to pay for things we want. That's all.

Outcast? So bad meh? Never kana threaten by gang good liao lah.

Yah .... we would defend out true friends .... all the most ourselves.

It depends on where you work I guess. Clearly I either enjoy my work bah.
I know. Everything related to hardware is paid by myself. Not by my parents btw. I save and work for it. Its my hobby after all.
More or less bah. Or more towards anti social lor. I used to be threatened in school. Now nobody even bothers since I bo chap already.
Yup. Needless to say. We would.

Agree with you ... unless we MO 100pcs or more .... don't bother about MO. Just order directly from them.

Yes ... of course there will be people who would also enjoy the work that they are doing. And luckily you are one yourself.

Cool .. buying hardware with own $$, your parent has did a good job in bringing you up to be independent.

So ... just curious ... during my time ... when we are bullied or whatever ... we have very little means to get help. Nowadays what can a students do or turn to when they are being bullied or threatened in school?

Ok ... so we both agree on that part. And please do be careful with the word you used, especially online.

Back to the monitor. I am still contemplating with Achieva Shimian vs CrossOver with pivot. If I were to get ... I am getting 2 set ... so I have to think and consider properly, eventho my wife is going to pay for it as my birthday present.

For your monitor ... those who are not particular about unboxing experience and want a panel with no stuck, no dead pixel can really consider.

Good luck.

If possible, would like to see the quality for myself.. and have a chat with you regarding the monitor.. buy you kopi :)

I seldom purchase items off the internet without 1st viewing the actual product beforehand. hehe

Advise from someone whom actually bought the item aka ME.

1) Don't go around asking for MO, waste of time, and also not much difference in price pay.

2) Try the "Make an Offer" if accepted, good, if not try again. I managed to get the 27q at USD $320.

3) Inform seller to put a price below SGD $400, mine was sent as USD $150. Seller will definitely help out on that.

4) Don't expect a perfect monitor, even tho its stated as Zero Dead Pixel by some sellers, once it's in your hand and you found one of some dead pixel, sending it back gonna cost you money. So buying it will be at your own risk.

5) Don't need a high end GFX card, as long can plug DUAL DVI D is enough, also gaming wise, don't play at native res, set your game res lower.

anymore questions?

For those who wanna see the monitor, I will have to confirm again if I can accommodate due to time and space constraints. No promises ok =:p

Anyway to add on from Taugeh:

1) I strongly advise getting from redcap on ebay simply because he was prompt with his replies and also quite understanding as initially I thought I had a faulty monitor. For example he waived the one week return policy. Offer him the price, I got USD320 for non-tempered and USD350 for tempered (non-pivot).

You may get cheaper on gmarket but I don't know how is their 'after-sales'.

2) The reason I got crossover is for its build quality. The frame is metal but it's steel (most likely) unlike apple cinema display (aluminium) so it's hefty.

This is the crossover with my samsung. Plastic vs metal, sleek vs solid, light vs heavy.

Much sturdier stand then my samsung, it used to rock on my cheap ikea table but this irritating problem is solved by crossover.

3) However their QC is definitely not great as since metal frame is slightly deformed at edges causing a gap with the panel. Not a common problem though, just seems I am unlucky to get a set so yeah.

4) So why I didn't send back? Simply because of the panel. I can't seem to find a dead pixel but i'm quite sure there is 1 or 2. Maybe my panel is "perfect panel", all the better; Or take it as I cock eye.

For SGD$450, I felt that the panel quality is reason enough to keep the monitor. Yeah like some said, looks like apple cinema display. I have used both ips and tn panels, simply put that tn panels you will forget after going to ips.

There is slight backlight bleeding on the bottom right but not a deal breaker for me. My samsung also had backlight bleeding...

5) No OSD for the monitor, simple power and brightness controls. Use an ICC profile (From overclock.net) to correct the colours, works for me.

6) Gaming wise, the response time is great and I did not experience input lag. Playing bf3 and witcher 2 now and they look great on the croossover. Using a slightly OC-ed 6970 but it struggles to keep framerates above 60+ so yeah you might have to drop resoulutions to 1440p ir 1080p.

So end of day whether you are willing to take the risk. It's a big risk to some I understand then I suggest you go SLS and get something there. If you wanna gamble then by all means get a crossover or any other brand off ebay/gmarket.

You come my place I let you kiss kiss sayang sayang my monitor also no point cos end of day there is no guarantee to what you'll receive but that's life right haha. Hope this helps!

Hi Bro, thanks for taking the time to reply.

For points 2, 4 and 5:

2) Which dealer did you order from? (sorry if you have mentioned it before)
4) What are the defects that came with your monitor? Did you get the one with tempered glass and pivot? (is tempered glass necessary? I would def get one with pivot)
5) When you say native res, are you referring to 2560? If setting game res lower, wouldn't it defeat the purpose of upgrading to a larger monitor with a 2560 res? (just my opinion, no offense here)

Thanks again!

2) Which dealer did you order from? (sorry if you have mentioned it before)
I believe many bros here got it from Redcap including me and would strongly recommend it too.

4) What are the defects that came with your monitor? Did you get the one with tempered glass and pivot? (is tempered glass necessary? I would def get one with pivot)
The Tempered glass model only comes in non pivot standIf you wanna get the pivot model there is only one model.

5) When you say native res, are you referring to 2560? If setting game res lower, wouldn't it defeat the purpose of upgrading to a larger monitor with a 2560 res? (just my opinion, no offense here)
The native res is 2560x1440. If you do not have a powerful graphic card, its impossible to game at ultra quality at this res.

Anyway with regards to the build quality, my base stand is slightly tilted down to the left. Not a big problem to me as I place some folded paper below the stand. Overall I find this is a good monitor. The monitor overall feel don't seems cheapo at all.

Your replies definately helped! I'm probably gonna get it from RedCap then... other than durability, are there any other advantages for using tempered glass? Heard dust getting stucked in between the glass is a common occurance? If tempered glas really makes a diff to viewing quality, i might chose to forgo the pivot model and settle for the tempered glass model.

Cheers!

Hope my reply would help

Any one of you have tried the crossover with a MacMini with Intel HD3000 card?
I intend to buy a macmini and a crossover and it will be less than half the cost of a iMac 27"! :)
