RIP my crossover :s22:
exactly 3mths of usage
last night my 27Q LED screen flickered for a bit.. when i power on today the screen is black. it recognises the signal from my graphic card since it changed to blue colour. I tested it with another monitor on the same port, it works fine but not the Crossover.

I have checked the cost at SingPost ... for package up to about 7kg :

1. SpeedPost EMS / 2-3 days @ $111.35
2. Surface Parcel / 28-56 days @ $53.30

Think you can asked the seller whether can you send them the shipping documents to proof that the item has been sent and they'll send the replacement straight away. If not wait till 56days then they received ... siao liao.

I doubt unless you've bought from some of the more expensive Ebay sellers anyone is going to be ok with waiting 50+ days for a defective screen to get there. They will usually try to claim warranty 1 on 1 with the manufacturer themselves so without the unit, I doubt they'll take the cost of sending a brand new one over. After all, the $56 package could be a bag of bolts for all they know and they won't discover the fact until a nearly two months later.

I think the better solution is just to ask them to ship a replacement pcb board so you can DIY fix yourself. Then both parties won't have to ship the monitor back and forth.

Btw, the 17" screen looks so cute! :)

Electronics is about connectivity which is usually soldering iron.

So if you have a soldering iron .... as long as you know where to disconnect and connect ... it should not be too difficult.

If one is hardcore enough ... you could even find the bloated capacitors ... get the one with correct value and replace.

It'll be good if they could post a video on Youtube on the possible faults and the causes. And then show on Youtube a walkthru on how to rectify the various problem, where to solder .. where to disconnect etc.

Then this would really reduce wasteful shipping charges. And for the seller ... they could shipped the spare parts to us without lesser worry about fraud on our part since the most expensive part is the screen.

okay guys, here's what AW told me

Sorry for the late response.

However, you've been using monitor over 2 months, we could only provide repair service up to 1 year as on the product description.
For the full refund/exchange can be only done within 30 days from purchased date.

What we could do will be, if you are willing to pay round way shipping charge, we can send new replacement to you.
or, if you make one way shipping charge, and ship your monitor back to us, we could provide repair service.

Sorry to make you upset and to be in such an inconveneience, but that will be the best way we could do.

what should i do now? im not sure :(

one way shipping is 40 usd- get seller to confirm. this means 2 way shipping (you send old monitor and she send you new monitor) is 80usd.

you get a brand new monitor for 80 usd! better than throwing it away right? ;)

Was thinking. since u already know how to dissamble the monitor, maybe u can ask them if possible to ship the faulty pcb board only?. it will be cheaper that way, right? u can take many photos of the overall view of the opened up monitor and ask them which is the one to be shipped. just my 2 cents.

P/s: am also curious how the internals of it looks like.. :)

how do you know its 40usd? i might consider the first method but im afraid the same problem will surface after a few months. :s22:

but the good thing is it will definitely be faster than them sending it to Crossover for repair and back again :(

1. SpeedPost EMS / 2-3 days @ SGD$111.35

2 way would be about SGD$106. With that amount, it might be better to get some shop to repair it for you. Might be cheaper and faster.

also the last I read (quite a few months ago) a guy that bought 5 units of the crossover managed to bargain down only around $10 per unit.

Ar with seller try to under declare lo, dunnoe can or not. But as of now, how reliable is this monitor. I am interested in getting one 27" though hmmm

Ask the seller to send them separately with different addresses.

Well .... how to repair would be the problem of the guy in the shop right? We just pay for them to solve our problem.
