Yes it's burnt, that mosfet in the first picture on top of "TO AD Board" connecter.
If I remember correctly i1magic have some extras if you can solder them yourself, you can try and PM him.
Or try Sim Lim Tower? Not sure if they have this. Mine has the same issue too, I asked the seller to send me a replacement LED driver board.

sorry for sounding noob , but how you know its burnt ah ? looks normal leh :s13::s13:

i found this at ebay, but somehow looks different leh

Your 3rd picture shows it's burnt isn't it? :s22:
This is the next rev board that doesn't have this issue.
Check with i1magic for the parts, he mentioned it a few posts back. Solder the mosfet yourself, save some money :o
Mine was still under 1 year warranty so the seller shipped it for free.

seems like the popular seller for Crossover panels on Qoo10 is gone. Anyone knows who is a reputable seller to purchase from? Hmm..

In summary can I say that the quality of Crossover is better than Qnix?

Currently, yes.
The Qnix QX2710 currently is a much inferior version of the monitor that used to be highly recommended.
It uses a (subjectively) inferior PLS panel, and they switched to PWM dimming for the backlight (info on PWM-dimming & its side effects - http://www.tftcentral.co.uk/articles/pulse_width_modulation.htm)

Currently, the highly recommended monitor over at overclock.net is the Crossover 2795QHD -

thanks for the explanation.

to be honest, i don't even game but i want a 27" screen in 1440p (read that 1080p on 27" is pretty terrible upclose) that I can surf net and watch my shows on. that's about it, so i don't really bother about overclocking, etc. given my intended usage, a Dell u2715h is quite a lot of money to pay for something that I'm gonna "under utilise". any recommendations? oh and vesa mounting is a must.

Tbh, I don't think surfing net & watching shows is under-utilizing a monitor.
Do also consider that Dell offers 5 years onsite warranty, while the korean panels only have 1 year warranty (and require you to ship them back for warranty claims)
Do also note that while these monitors all support VESA mounting, the korean monitors will have half of the stand attached to the bezel (you may have to debezel these to remove it)

The prices of the various monitors you mentioned are below, for comparison:
Qnix qx2710 ~ $300-400
Crossover 2795QHD ~ $500
Dell U2715H ~ $700 (depends on discounts and promos)

The main factor is the warranty, and if you are comfortable with shipping stuff back for warranty, etc.
Otherwise, the Dell U2715H would be the better choice for your peace of mind, superior panel quality, and to avoid the hassle in the case of monitor failure.
Your choice.

I agree with you. Basically, when we are paying more, we are paying for the additional specs + warranty.

I actually ordered 2 x CrossOver 27Q with stand on 21 May 2012. On around Jan 2014 (about 1yrs 7mths after), one of the monitor starts flickering and eventually the screen blacked-out.

After some research, open up the monitor and found out that the LED driver board has a chip that is toasted. Contacted the seller and asked for a replacement LED driver board. Cost me about SGD$60.

They sent it over to me. I opened up the monitor, replaced the LED driver board and *finger crossed* the monitor has been serving me well since.

I think your explanation makes it pretty clear. The five year warranty does give me a peace of mind, and seeing how Korean panels are a hit or miss thing (even brand new out of the box), I think going with Dell would make it relatively hassle free. My Samsung 2333SW has been going strong (although it's starting to dim) for the past 6 years so I would rather spend a bit more to have something that will last a good 5 years or more.

Cheers!

Planning to. But the price tag ($799 before any promo) is making me think twice.. :s13: I even bought a Loctek monitor arm from Taobao.. but have not placed an order for the monitor.

31.5" is way too huge for desk placement. :s22:

:s22: why not just get a 32" TV, it should be much cheaper with decent resolution~

Loctek D5UH, the one that comes with two USB ports at the base.

Bought from Taobao, with shipping ~SGD90. Seems to be taking some time to arrive in SG though.
