recently moolah sense is back in action again with lots more offers.

However i realised the SMEs that are in always have very low average cash balances despite their high profits and revenues

E.g. 14 mil revenue, 1 mil net profit after tax, avg cash balance 25k for past 6 mths

anybody know why?

because they are in debt and need to pay the lender back principal+high interest? =:p

so high revenue but low profits.

High revenue -> high cost of sales -> high expenses -> low profit = No bonus for staff

But directors can change new car, buy new landed properties

Car and landed properties can be under the companies' name!
Expenses charged under the company!

Inflate the expenses. So I never believe the board's words of "company not doing well" thing.

Yes. Family own business pay themselves high director remuneration and their expense claim from business. So u see low profit but actually very proditable.

Sent from Samsung SM-G920I using GAGT

I have nothing to say if they treat the staffs well...

Sometimes they just want keep everything to themselves and forget about the staffs, so I wonder how some of the staffs can stay for over 10 years in such companies, because to me I find it not worth.

Used to invest. Till i sorted it doesnt inline with my investing principle.

Epic centre went there to raise funds b4.
After reviewing the annual report from epic centre i gave it a pass.

1.
Most fund raiser raise 100k and below at interest 8-12%.

100k can be raise with sme gov grant at 3-5%. They choose p2p at 8-12%.
It doesnt seem logical.

If paper works from bank is pain in the ass. It also means return of principal is more important than interest.

Do note that 100k ,12% only translate to 12k p.a. Or 1k per month. Borrowing Expense is very little for profitable company.

2.
Sgx company comes with audited financial report and better returns.

anyone vested in moolahsense?
alot of champaign now, the return so tempting.

I participated in the Epi Centre one last year. Payments were on time and everything ended well. But having said that, do bear in mind that P2P loans are very high-risk in nature and you can lose everything if the borrower were to run road. You won't be able to do anything nor can you hold moolahsense responsible.

I used to invest moolahsense p2p previously as well.
Returns are good and I didn't lose money.
But I find it's a bit risky so I switch to capital match.
They offer invoice financing which I find is less risky. Amount invested per invoice is also low usually <$500 so I can spread the risk across multiple baskets.

If the companies have solid financials they would go to banks to get loans with lower interest right ?
It's balance of risk vs rewards right.

Participated in epic last year - everything on time and ended really well, should have dumped triple the amount :)

But so far haven really hear any companies closing down yet right? By right we should have at least 1 happening now

I put 2k in last year or was it 2015 can't remember. 1k into offshore construction another into Yuen Loong watch. The offshore finished repayment with no problem, but this Yuen Loong watch think only paid once or twice then every month late, moolahsense keep saying they trying to recover, only get peanuts, now still got around $900 not paid and the campaign now been classified as "stressed"

KNN will never invest with them ever again.

P2p loan rate is like 1 step away from licensed money lender.

Tier 1 government bond rate
Tier 2 sibor / money market rate
Tier 3 bank rate
Tier 4 P2p loan rate
Tier 5 licensed money lender rate
Tier 6 loan shark rate.
