Ermm OK I will try in May cos my current promo ends in Apr. I will withdraw out all cash from Moomoo before registering new promo, then deposit back again and then register new promo. If it works, the countdown counter would show, the amount deposited eligible for promo interest. Risk is that only found out no promo interest received after deposit period, when amount could be deposited in other higher interest accounts.

I know previous promotions work this way ie. fresh funds counted by net amount deposited after registration.

But then Moomoo changed the rules recently ie. Fresh funds determined by net amount deposited after promo start date (regardless of when u register), preventing pple from withdrawing before registration and depositing back after registration (recycling of funds).

Sure. But revhappy said above he tried.
I tried in the previous promo and it worked. The T&C has this part now:

2. I have deposited fresh funds before signing up on this page, what do I do?
Dear Valued Customer, we regret to inform you that you were unable to successfully participate in the activity due to your deposit being made prior to registration or not registering at all. However, we understand your eagerness to take part in this event, and therefore, we would like to offer you a special consideration. To proceed with the compensation, we kindly request that you provide us with the following documents: screenshots of your deposit and withdrawal records, and detailed information about your positions. We will use this information to calculate the compensation, and the reward will be distributed within 7 working days after the profit expires. Please note that due to the unique nature of this situation, the compensation distribution may take longer than usual. Thank you for your cooperation.

My feeling is they don't want to explicitly tell you to withdraw and register again. But if you do you should qualify.

There is no loop hole. It is the intended behaviour. Basically you are entitled to participate once every promo. So for example the previous promo ended on Apr 1 and then the next one ends on Jul 1. So if you participated in the promo which ended on Apr 1, then as soon as the 20/40/60 days are over, you can withdraw your funds. Then click "register" then deposit again. You dont need to withdraw everything. You only need to withdraw-register-deposit, the amount required to meet the threshold. So for example for 20 days, you only need to withdraw-register-deposit 10k and the entire balance is eligible for the 6.8% for 20 days.

Basically not everyone has the intellect to understand this mechanics or they are not bothered to do the leg work. But those who know can enjoy the benefits.
I don't think the entire balance will be 6.8%pa for 20 days.

Say for the promo ended April , one has 50k that used to enjoy 5.8%.

For the latest promo, one needs to put 10k fresh fund to activate 6.8% for 20 days. Total one has 60k now BUT only 50k enjoys the 6.8% for 20 days. 10k just follow the market returns of the fund.

Thank you sir. Problem is, the cso told me that I'm not eligible. Not sure if the cso correct or not.
I haven't tried in the current promo. I tried in the previous promo and it worked.

They are still using the registration to the promo as the trigger point. So I beleive their software is still the same. After the registration trigger is hit, then it tracks the net deposit.

Anyways no harm in trying. Worst case you lose couple of days of interest.

It's also possible that the registration page and the actual calculation aren't linked on the backend, and the T&Cs would be quite clearly on Moomoo's side.

Play with fire, prepare for the possibility of getting burnt. (But also, nothing ventured, nothing gained.)

Worst one is got a bunch of kumgongs in those chats sharing how to exploit.

If the bank isn't reaching their desired audience or is losing too much money from the promo, they will tweak the criteria sooner.

People who know how to exploit should just diam diam and do for their family.
You forgotten what you said above and below? :ROFLMAO:

I actively whack people who flex that they know some secret, so I don't want to be a hypocrite and do the same.

My interest is in making sure good promotions last longer. Every promotion has an internal marketing budget. If people overshare on how to exploit (especially to silent lurkers), isn't that just cutting short the promo for the rest of us?

Why is it lose a couple of days interest? E.g latest promo rule is first tier 10k new fresh fund cap at 50k
1. Promo start at 01 Apr. At this point you say have existing 60k
2. You withdraw to say left 40k then you register at say 01 May. You say this is where they start calculate new fresh fund relative to 01 May existing fund of 40k
3. If it does not work as what is assumed in point 2 but point 1 instead you lose the additional daily returns of more than a few days becuz tier 1 is 20 days. 20 is not a few days in my definition.

Let's say you are enjoying the previous promo and you have 80k in there. Previous promo 40 days over and now, you withdraw 50k, register and deposit back the 50k.

2 things are possible:
1) It calculate the new deposit 50K and start the counter again for 40days, under new promo
2) It don't treat it as new deposit and you earn the underlying rate of whatever 3.8%.

Now if didn't do anything, then you would anyways earn the same 3.8%, but because you withdraw and deposit back 50k worst case you don't earn anything for the few days the money was out of the account. That's what I mean you lose couple of days of interest.

Just wondering, if something happen to MooMoo (touch wood), will the funds in cash plus get stuck?

Or is there a separate custodian account?
