You want to go to mount Fuji or view mount Fuji? There's tours that does both from Klook. Can diy also.

There's clear view of mount Fuji 90 days in a year. Other days obscured by cloud and rain.

Depends on how much time u have to spare for mount fuji.
If 1 day, definitely tour.

if more than one day, then take trains or bus and then rent a car once at fuji. (preferably 3 days 2 nights for 1st timer to take it slow). I'd avoid the 3 caves. (wind , ice, bat)

Ive personally only used the bus method to get there and back, from shinjuku express bus terminal level 4. they have quite a number of buses a day. but still better to book ahead. travel time one way via bus is about 2-3 hrs. (duration depends on whether got jam or not) and can only bring 1 luggage per person (put in bus trunk) + carry-on bag.

if 1 day, yes. quite rush. see 1 or 2 places and zao. if 2 days, not so bad. but if 2 days and staying over at fuji, might as well just stay 1 more extra day (3d2n) and take it slower.

I can't accurately tell u. You'll have to check websites like willer express and Japan bus online for the date u r intending to go/return. Also subject to availability. If taking bus, Book early, don't assume have bus everyday at all timeslots on the day itself.
