I don't think so. But what you have found seems very good. Anyway, the one that I had seems fine to me. It further enhances an already very clear screen. I used it for a presentation tonite hooked up to an lcd projector, it ran powerpoint 2007 with ease. I was expecting some hesitation in transition due to its lower spec atom processor but was I surprised. It seems this "Wind" is blowing alot of my initial hesitations away.

This is my first post on HWZ. Bought the Wind U100 after Comex promotion so only got a 6-cell battery instead of 3+6 cell batteries.

Checked for latest U100 WLAN drivers at msi.com when I was trying to fix machine's erratic wifi connection & discovered they had several driver files posted there. Downloaded all 3 driver files provided & found on opening the RTL file that it was the wrong driver (Read Me file says to identify which WLAN card is installed on Wind before selecting appropriate driver). Anyway, my Wind is installed with the Ralink Tech b/g/n card so I needed the RT2700 driver. Pleased to report that after driver upgrade, it is connecting flawlessly with my N-router at home, even from the kitchen downstairs, which I can never do with my full-size notebook installed with Realtek b/g card. Shall go test out Wireless@SG hotspots this weekend.

Another problem I had was that the touchpad was not listed under Mouse in Control Panel and only ps/2 mouse was listed. Nonetheless, I assumed I had a Sentelic pad based on discussions in msiwind.net and went ahead to install the driver for Sentelic touchpad (finally found it after great difficulty in the U100 FAQ page in msimobile.com). Update has enabled me to scroll vertically using the 'hot' corners of the touchpad, but still can't configure other tap zones unlike the Synaptic touchpad.

Where can I download the Sentelic driver?
Thanks!

any1 managed to get MSI Wind from Carrefour's offer last week?
think it's $899 with 10% rebate for POSB Everyday card and free upgrade to 2GB ram.
Limited to 10 sets per store.

Was too busy last weekend. :-(

The new offer is $935 plus a 20G 18" external hard disk.
Went to Carrefour Plaza Singapura, only white available.
Ask the salesman to show me the "6 cell battery";it was 4400mah.
He wasn't even aware of the 5200mah!

Question:Will Corbell change those 4400mah batteries from Winds bought elsewhere like Carrefour or SLS?

BTW,it's wireless N draft.

To those who are looking at protecting your Windscreen,

I spent last Saturday hunting for screen protectors and finally managed to find the only place that sells the 10.2". For those searching, they are available @ Newstead Accessories Level 3 Funan Centre. Look for Jenny, she's a great help.

Hope that helps!

hi, i went there to get my screen protector done today but somehow the screen protector is like not align with the screen, abit off at the top, like 1mm or so that is not covered by the protector and can see the "edge". is it normal ? can i take it out and redo? thanks

Hi folks.

Got myself a Wind from Comex promo and collected it 2 weeks ago. Just realised my batt is 4400mAh only. Am i supposed to go back and exchange with them for a 5200mAh?

Hi, I guess you can, but if I am you, I go back and ask them to redo it. If they can't get it done right, they will have to put a new one on.

Just a little flash back. Prior to finding the right screen size @ newstead, I was @ SLS, a young guy told me he had the size for my Wind only to realize that after I've agreed to give him the job, he took out a standard size screen and began cutting it down to fit 10 inch screen, not exactly what I was expecting. He was enthusiastic so I decided to watch him do it and was I glad I did, he messed up and because I was watching, he took out a brand new screen and redo it but messed it again. It cost him 2 screens and he finally gave up and ask me to go else where. I felt sorry for him.

The point is if they are sticking it for you, it's your consumer right to have it done right especially when the piece is specifically designed for your Wind.
