2 of our users have bought 320GB HDD themselves from SLS and we install for them for a small fee, plus continue to warranty the rest of the Wind's components. :)

1) User buy the HDD (w/ warranty card) from SLS shops.
2) We installed the new HDD into Wind. The old 80GB is theirs to keep.
3) Anytime the installed HDD got problem, we will help them to take out the HDD and user will RMA the HDD on their own. We'll fix it back after they receive their replaced/repaired HDD. This service is free for the 1st year. After 1 year, if there is a need to RMA the HDD again, small service charge would apply. :)

Lol, after 1 year the user can open up the Wind by themselves :s13:. This has to be the best customer service available worldwide, though :).

Users of course can choose to open the wind notebook by themselves after the warranty period have ceased. :)

But for our customers who are fazed with dismantling the notebook themselves to retrieve the HDDs, we are suggesting tat we can do so with a small fee after the 1st year warranty has ended. Many current laptop users are also resorting to laptop resellers to dismantle harddisk/rams when their branded notebook warranty has ended. We are providing an option for users if they prefer the brand-owners who know the model inside out to do it for them. ; This option may not be applicable for all, but for those who need help, might prefer us to do it. :)

Nice to know :). The HDD is a bit trickier to remove cos they placed the screw below the WLAN card. I wanted to remove it the last time, but decided against it at the last minute. Alright, back to waiting for my 6-cell Wind :look:.

Lol, perhaps you should take a look at the Eee PCs then. They're 10x easier to upgrade, due to the upgrade panel at the back. You don't need to remove the entire back cover in order to gain access to the insides.

Here is a not-so-clear shot of the back of the Eee PC 1000H (from Tweaktown), but you can still make out the outline of the upgrade panel.

And this is what's below the upgrade panel. Easy access to the wireless card, RAM and 2.5" HDD :).

Tried to install a nlited version of winXP on my Wind, managed to do it, only after formatting all partitions. If you don't do that you will get the "Cannot find \Windows\System32\hal.dll"

So after installing the OS in, i also had to edit the boot.ini file as it was showing 2 other options to start up WinXP Pro, during start up.

I thought after that all problems were solved as i proceed to install the drivers, gues what after installing all drivers and SCM. My FN buttons don't really work proper, only the volume ones works showing the GUI icons the rest no icons is displayed when i use them, but they are working.

The worst now, is that everytime i try to shut down the computer, it start to do the shut down proccess, then it shows a black screen with windows logo, saying Now it is safe to shut down your computer. I press the power button, it just blanks off the screen, but the battery indicator lights are still on. means it did not fully shut down.

Anyone has any ideas how to solve this?

Where's your ACPI section? :s22:

Go see whether you can reinstall the drivers for it...
