Possible outcomes that might happen:

1 - Come September, MSI solves the problem with the batteries, and we finally see XP Winds that come with 6-cells. If this happens, the local price will increase because it would not be fair to the early adopters who have gotten the 3-cell batteries.

2 - MSI decides to pull a 'stunt' and changes the default configuration to 3-cells for all Winds, and sells the 6-cell battery as an "upgrade". Quite possible, since the profit margin looks quite good - that 6-cell battery sells for 20% of the Wind's price.

3 - MSI becomes the nice guy by offering a trade-in of the 3-cell for a 6-cell, either for free or for a price. However, the only way this will happen is if MSI has a way to get rid of those 3-cells. Compare the 3-cell and the 6-cell battery, and you will know that the cells are of different quality. MSI could cobble 2 3-cells into 1 6-cell, but that would result in 15% less battery life. Asus was able to offer a trade-in of the 4400mAh battery for the 5800mAh cos I suspect they are reusing the cells right now :). Then again, there is a 8.9" Wind planned, and they could possibly reuse the 3-cell batteries there.

Let's hope it's 3, so I won't have to go to so much trouble to get a Wind :).

Hi I'm gonna post some really noob questions. Been so confused by all the netbooks that's coming out I can't keep track of what's what anymore... So firstly...

Whats the specs of the MSI Wind selling in Singapore now? I understand it has 80GB HDD, but does it come with Windows XP preinstalled?

Another thing is, when I walk around Sim Lim Square, the Wind seems to be damn hot. Ask around every shop say sold out... Even demo unit also sold out!

I'm trying to decide between the Acer Aspire One and MSI Wind... The Aspire One looks nicer, and is cheaper, but with 8GB only and no Windows preinstalled... But its available everywhere. I'm having a hard time finding the wind.

Hope bros can help out!

The Wind comes with XP. Most shops don't have it, partly cos it's hot, and partly cos not much stock was brought in :). The Aspire looks good, but for only $99 more, you can get the Eee PC 901, which comes with XP, 12GB SSD, draft-n, 1.3MP webcam and a 6-cell battery :).

Thanks for the advice Doody. One thing is that I have hulk sized hands, so typing on the 901's keyboard is like trying to park a M1 Abrams tank inside a portable toilet. Does the 1000H feature a larger keyboard?

At first I considered the EEE ugly (partly based on my impressions from the 701. I still find the 701 butt ugly), but was pleasantly surprised by the 1000H. Still find the Aspire One the best looking of them all.

Lastly, does the 1000H have a glossy screen? Where can I find it? I heard Harvey Norman has it?

To support MSI, you need money... to support Corbell, you need cash.

Sigh, what's a guy to do... :s13:.

Lol, I'm not gonna sidetrack from the Wind any more in this thread :).

Any solutions?

Not that extreme la....As in so many to choose from...I will still choose "M"

Ok I rather they fix the wireless than the 6 cell battery.

Once again, you've probably removed those tools when you nLited your XP :).

And the wireless is fixed! Why is everyone still bringing up the wireless problem...

Maybe some people used the drivers on the MSI website currently. That one keeps dc-ing for me. The one you posted on mediafire works just fine.
