50mbps CIR for the 1gbps plan only? If this is true, might not go through with the plan anymore when the Order Team contacts me in Feb.

VQ it is then I guess.

Will observe this thread until we find out more info though. This is still a great offer though, but hope the CIR situation is better than 50mbps for international downloads/torrents.

I just did this just now if u look at the time and date. Nothing else is downloading, and the torrents are not some Ubuntu release, or some free software that u download once and thats it. Well u get my drift.

I am on 100Mbps Pure which has a CIR of 25Mbps. Look at what my speed is when I am doing this test. 77Mbps.

BTW its not Burst 77Mbps and thats it, the Burst is up to 82Mbps and hovers around 70-80Mbps range constant.

This however does not meant that now we can draw a conclusion that MR's 1Gbps will do the same thing as well. Nobody has it running now, nobody not working for MR has told us that yes this 1Gbps I test liao can do 900Mbps and above during peak if u have the right equipment, good seeds from torrents.

Personally however, I do have some confidence to see 500Mbps-1000Mbps speeds, based on what I am looking at now.

Its still TOO EARLY to draw any conclusions, yet.

Yes you're right that its still too early to draw any conclusions yet, thanks for taking the time to show us what it's like with your current connection, look forward to hear from official MR representatives on the matter.

jump first, by the time it gets congested, almost time for the contract to end liao. (e.g. M1)

having said that, 1yr into my MR contract, still no slowdown le :s13:

so how?

all these speculation also no use.

but based on their short history, its good for me.
only bitcasa is slow, but i can't pin point is it the isp or bitcasa itself.

Yep still too early. The current pricing/speed ratio its unbeatable. If u are not schedule for Q1 can wait and see response (sure will have complain threads if its bad).

If my contract expires this July and the scheduled installation date is Q2, still need to pay OTC?

Wow. My own torrents never look so good. Then again wireless shouldn't hope for too much. 6MB/s good enough for me already :s13::s13: Anyway good point, too early to speculate also.

They are having a briefing today to discuss on the $100 router voucher if customers did not opt to purchase one of the 3 ASUS routers.

Any update on the customer do not opt to buy router?

Still pending this before I upgrade mine.

is it possible to retain current isp home line while taking up mr?

also, what are the speeds like if using giganews/astraweb with max connections? try it on a big nzb and do let us know the avg speeds.

Yes but that will require you to activate the second port on the TP assuming your current ISP is also on fibre.

Is there really a big difference in terms of ping/latency with non gamer and gamer plans? How much are we talking here?

I typically play games like BF4 and other games that have servers within either SG or closer in the region.

Does it really matter to pay extra for a gamer plan?

My plan ends around September and I have the additional 3 months free subscription towards the end of my contract. Is it possible to use those free subscription to waive off the OTC? If not its very disadvantageous against us existing users who have supported MR early :(

That will not be possible, suggest you can complete your free month before switching over to the new plan, same time once your contract finish, u do not need to pay OTC too as u consider a recontract instead of upgrade.

The CIR for both 500Mbps and 1Gbps is only 50Mbps. Not sure if this info is available anywhere on their webpage or signup form, but it should be put in bold and extra large fonts.

The CIR of 50Mbps is most likely for the old business plan.

But we can assure full bandwidth for steaming, gaming VOIP and surfing still remaining for 1Gbps on consumers plan.

Even though i don't really believe it due to oversubscription model, this is kind of disingenuous isn't it? Business users pay more so they will be effectively subsidising the bandwidth of home users who get to use the bandwidth during business users offpeak hours. More reason now why I will not support MR from a corporate point of view.
