If your network equipment meets the requirements, you can try download iOS firmware. No problem hitting 80MB/s with idm and if i download multiple files at the same time, the download speed altogether hits around 8-9 MB/s.

I am guessing if i were to download multiple files on 1 Gbps using IDM, it should hit a total speed of 80 MB/s? or is that hoping for too much.
Alright thanks!

Good time - 100+MB/Sec dl, multiple file multiple threads.
Bad time -10-15MB/Sec dl, multiple file multiple threads.
Normal time - 35-50MB/sec dl, multiple file multiple threads.

Pay peanut get peanut, if you prefer stable speed i would strongly suggest going for VQ.

I still havent had any real problems with MR so I'll still stay with them for now.

Speaking from experience with even the 100Mbps, U got to have a decent com as well. It will be very taxing if you download 10 files at once on IDM and they all finish all at the same time and "merging" together, or if you set destination to another harddisk if you download on SSD.

Oh yeah i used to have that merging problem on my laptop last time but currently I am using a desktop pc (with SSD and hdd) so i have never felt that slowness even while its merging.

33 days without internet services.

I was promised by MR:

"However, if OpenNet does not respond, then we will send our technician down to provide you with a temporary internet connection until your problem is resolved"

Seems like the word send do not come with a timeline. They are only able to send next week. Looks like another delay tactic. I shall remain sceptical about their promises until i really see a connection that i can used in my house.

40 days without internet services...

As i expected, they send another poor technician that had no idea whats going on here. I show him all the service record and he made a call back to company. He was out of my door within 5 min and i am still without a connection. So much for their promises...

My contract with MR ending on 24th June so on 23rd May, I signed up for the upgrade to 1GB. According to the online consultant, around one week or so, someone will call me to inform about possible installation dates etc.... I have read the posts here and know that possibly, there are delays and could be quite long but I will wait. MR has not failed me thus far for the last 2 years, the odd drop in connection was manageable, probably I used wired connection and hardly wifi so speed was ok most of the time. So hopefully MR does not disappoint current customers but like I always said, we always have a choice. Once my contract is up, I will also look around at other service providers.....and if it happens that MR does not satisfy the demands, then we are always free to move or at least for myself.

My advice to you is to call them again rather than wait for them to call you since time running short. If the answer not up to your satisfactory after the call then jump ship hor....:s12:!

Wah u are so right. But i will be paying out of contract price for the next couple of month if they fail to recontract me?

FOr me as a current customer, I guess I will need to continue paying my current price which is 59 bucks until they grade me to the 1GBs....but as long they have not upgrade me, I am always free to look around so I am in control in that sense.

If I am not wrong, MR staff did mention that you will still be paying the contract price while waiting for the 1Gbps installation.

Please call/PM MR to double confirm on this point.

If you like MR, you can stay. Heard that
Next week is PC Show and if sign ST, it can provide installation v fast and with free AC router for 500Mbps plan.

At a price of around $79.90/month.

Not really la, now 6 mths waive for existing user and still can request for extra 2 mths. May be better offer pop up during PC Show. May be 300Mbps also get it. Only big isp can offer good deal.

ST do have better promotion for existing user upon request provided that no arrears in payment.

You sound like you work for ST ?

ST are just blood sucker...look at how much they charge for IDD call previously , before new competitor enter this segment to liberalize the monopolized market.
