On second thought, the rocket that they launched in Jan must have crashed somewhere

Yes, you can try to perform a factory reset on your router (save any settings first) to see if it resolves your issue.
i held the reset button behind the router and everything is good now.

thanks man!

and i realized QoS slowed the speed down to 200. so i off it not sure what it do too.

there's an issue which i cannot change my payment details.

go online and it wont get updated.
live chat online and there's no reply
called in and it directs me to email them
go to shop and directs me to phone as they only handle new subscription.

go 1 big round. and please don't cut my internet because i depend on it to earn my income. and don't charge me admin fees.

Hi All,

I just got my 1Gbps installed today. Upgraded from the 100mbps plan.
Im really disappointed with the speed.

I've ran speed test and im getting 94Mbps Down and 95Mbps Up.

Tried to Download via BT and Im getting only 3-5MB/s speed Down and less then 1MB/s UP.. This is really pathetic as my older 100mbps plan im able to achieve 7MB/s speed DWN and up to 3MB/s UP speed.

I've tried plugging direct to the Alcatel box and Speedtest is even pathetic at 20Mbps Down..

Tried downloading from Microsoft site, usually able to get about 8 to 10MB/s speed, but am getting less then 2MB/s.. :(

Not sure what is going on, Firewalls are off. Im using the new Asus RT 68 provided by MR. I've disabled the built in Firewall and never turn on QOS.

Morever, i tried to revert back to my older Linsys router and im similar speeds..

I would like to know if anyone else facing such issues? What is the usual speeds that you're getting on average? An upgrade in Plan should see at least significant improvement in speed but im disappointed overall, might as well stick to older plan.

Are you sure that your PC network adapter is working in Gigabit mode, must make sure that it is else it won't hit that speed.

90+Mbit/s is typically a sign of bad lan cable that cause it not able to negotiate 1gbit link.

Try change a new cat5e cable and see if it works in 1gbit mode in LAN card.

My Laptop Network adapter is in Gigabit mode. I can see 1.0Gbps connection on my LAN.

I'll try to play around with Lan cables and see if there is any issues. Issue is even when i plug direct to the ONT without router speedtest is even worst.

My current Config is as follows :

ONT > Asus RT68 > Hall Wall Jack > Room Wall Jack > Cisco Gigabit Switch > Laptop.
Whole house wired with Cat 6 cable.

It is possible with better or correct hardware specifications.

FYI only.

Last Result:
Download Speed: 948492 kbps (118561.5 KB/sec transfer rate)
Upload Speed: 474007 kbps (59250.9 KB/sec transfer rate)
Latency: 2 ms
Jitter: 2 ms

Example of such hardware spec? Latest Intel NIC?

In case you weren't aware, the upload speed for MR is only 500Mbps.

Update from a new user

Just my piece, if anyone wants to know. I have no issue with any delay with regards to the installation as a new subscriber. I signed up with MR online and had a call the next day to fix the installation date which was about 2 weeks away. The installer called me that he was coming to install on the day itself and it was installed (yesterday). I tried and it works better than my cable (of course it had lower specs but at a higher price (non contract)). Not a gamer but I am enjoying watching my Youtube videos.

A note that I already have the terminal point so it was just the modem (if that is what it is called) and the router installation and it was not contracted during any IT fair.
