Exercise your consumer rights! Channel your frustrations with MR dismal internet experience, lackadaisical customer service their company has been providing to MyRepublic's trio:

You'll get a call by this week! We're already briefing the call team.

Haven't received any call from MR regarding the Beta as well.

Hopefully, MR will be able to keep to their word and call us by this week.

With all the negative publicity and miscommunication in the forums lately, MR really needs to really buck up in their overall communications plan.

My internet is still crawling like tortoise intermittently on certain nights since i switched from m1 to MR... my bro have never complaint during the 2 years with m1 and he started to a few days later with MR.. engineer came once and find no issue.. and he helped to configure the router...but the problem doesn't goes away.. and i am in the 3rd mth..

What could be the issues here? 1. MR ONT box, 2. cabling (which i doubt so), 3. Opennet panels?

IF MR can't resolve it, what should i do? As a consumer and end user, really find it frustrating when the slowness hit you and you see your browser keep loading and nothing happen.... MR is so slow in responding emails and no followup at all if you do not email them to followup.... haiz...

1. Are you using wired or wireless connection?

2. Have you tested via direct connection to the ONT?

3. Can you do a test on https://app.netrounds.com/speedtest/bbq/?

About China

Okay everyone, sorry for the silence over this issue for the past few days, but we wanted to make sure we had a solid situation update for you guys (as opposed to just going "we're looking into it" all the time).

So yes, let's talk about accessing Chinese websites.

MyRepublic has and will be investing time, equipment and money to improve connection to China through a variety of ways (and no, we're not putting this cost on any customer). MyRepublic subscribers should be able to see better and more consistent connections to a number of Chinese websites in about 4 weeks.

But we need to be square to you about this: Problematic access to Chinese websites is an industry-wide problem, not just with MyRepublic. Anyone who tells you otherwise is lying. Chinese internet bandwidth is highly congested (and messy), so you may have good connection today on XYZ ISP/telco, and then bad connection the next day (and vice versa).

Whenever the problem gets really bad, we'll take action. But we can't fix the infrastructure of China's internet. This is why we can't guarantee that you will always have great connection to China - unfortunately no ISP can.

Is it possible to share more details (can be high level if not convenient to share the technical part) on how MR improve on the connection to China?

Does the improvement only applies to those who are on 1Gbps or existing subscribers as well?

I am experiencing dns caching from Myrepublic. Ip change since 1 march but till now still being directed to the old ip. A check on the online dns lookup tools shows that ip already propagate.

Hate to be bombarding MR thread lately but this is the email sent by MR Customer Support regarding the crazy ping spike a day back (which still persist right now) and I am quite disappointed by how generic and unhelpful the response is. * shakes head *

9oiuW8M.png

If I did not approach Mark to troubleshoot the issue personally I would have been stuck with such an unhelpful response. The problem right now is D3 ping used to be 120 -/+ (even though it wasn't ideal it was consistently the same and was within a reasonable number) but on Sunday it went up to 280 -/+ so I called up technical support and was told to send a screenshot of what went wrong and what's the ping right now to "myservice@myrepublic.com.sg" so that the Network Team can investigate and get to the bottom of it.

Does the CSO actually paid attention to what I said on the phone ? You guys took a day to get back to me that you can't troubleshoot for me because I am on PURE plan instead of the GAMER plan. I am not asking for custom routing, I am merely asking for a solution/fix to the ping issue that shouldn't be happening. From the impression of the email, it seems that because I am Pure internet plan hence I am not entitled to have someone troubleshoot the problem at all ? Disappointing.

On the other hand you guys should really be thankful to Mark, he took the effort to check things out for me the moment I texted him later in the evening and even though he was not obliged to help, he still did and even explained to me what happened and that he would email LG (because the IP belongs to them and something happened to the return route which would take some time to resolve because he would need to email them)

Come on MR, give me something good to say about you guys as a company beside allowing me to be thankful that I am connected to the internet ?

I wouldn't pissed if I didn't see that email, what was the whole point of asking me to send screenshot to troubleshoot and then come back to tell me sorry we probably cannot troubleshoot for you, you are only on the PURE plan not gamer plan so no custom routing. Lag = Lag. That's it.

PS: Off-topic but I received the 1GBPS beta invitation email on 1st March and when I called up on the same day, I was told I would receive a call within a week to confirm but it is 10th March now. No news on that either.

From 10MB/s until 2.5MB/s tonight.

obtaining ideal wireless throughout the house

Hi all,

I thought this might be the best way to seek from some expert out there. I currently am having an Asus AC-66 router. Its place in 1 of the bedrooms as that's where the TP is at. However, due to the reality of wireless, I am not getting the ideal distance coverage throughout the house. When in the kitchen of my 4-room flat, it will start to shaken. As we are talking about 1 GB plan, it makes a lot of sense to have wireless throughout the house. There were suggestions of investing an AC-router/access point, which in this case, the only way out is to invest on another AC-68 router and set it as a wireless access point to be place somewhere else at the house to enhance its wireless signal to hopefully reach the whole house... Wonder is this the most ideal move or if there are any suggestions?

Thanks.
