i am still considering weather to switch over to MyRepublic...
Currently using M1 (Fibre 100 + Home fixed line)
Over the next 24 mths...
Continue with M1 = $991 (39x24 +55 install fee)
Switch to MR + starhub DVoice (port from M1) = over $1.35K (after all terminate & install fees)
(must maintain home number)

heard good feedback from MR... went to AMK hub check out.
still considering to change or not. "fan"

1) M1 do charge Voice termination fee. But probably only applies when the number is ported to Singtel / Starhub

2) MR or other non big 3 ISP cannot port numbers (from them aka the Big Bully 3)

3) If you want good torrent experience 24/7 excluding maintenance time (Sama sama for all ISP during late nights like once or twice per month), go MR than M1 for like $400? (Based on your $991 VS $1.35K)

4) If you do not want to be bullied by the sama sama source, go MR as it has the least start up cost to do the objective. (Yes, MyRepublic has to use OpenNet infra which is still paying Stinktel indirectly at a minimal cost. M1 is not bad but still not much better than MR)

5) If you want to see more innovative ideas on Fiber network competition, go MR as M1 copied their concept of Gamer plan.

6) If you are using white ONT, then switching to MR who is also using white ONT which means you will have seamless jump ship experience (Using the same infra of last mile connection) VS upgrading to present M1's 200Mbps under black ONT. This is because M1 has to get OpenNet to do Port 2 provision which OpenNet like to play tai chi more and M1 seemed inefficient in dealing such matters.

CEE 2013 promotion is coming out soon hence you want want to wait for the new promotion and make the decision.

From a customer point of view, it is worth the difference and there are ways to recover the difference.

Myrepublic LAN slow in private torrent download

Good day,

I had previously been getting great speeds for my private tracker download at 8 -10 MB/s, but since early this week, my download crawl to below kb/s and on 1 of the sites(HD.GG), its stated that i am not connected to my peers.

The only change that happened before the slowdown was some Windows update, but i have previously turned off all Windows n software Firewalls, and done the necessary port forwarding in router, hence my fast speed till last week.

When i do the port check at canyouseeme.org, the connection timed out . any idea if the dynamic IP is the cause of my port connection and speed issues?

Appreciate your critical help!
EK

Can someone from MR confirm if the same static IP address can be used even if I shift house? Contract almost up with green camp so I'm thinking of subbing for purple light. But in a few months' time I will be moving to another house. Currently in the north now and will move to the east.

I mean even if a different static IP address is required, it's not much hassle but I scared I'll get charged another $50 if I require a second static IP address.

You still can use the same static IP address for your new location.

Please do note that in your situation.
The requirement for relocation.
1. If your contract has more than 12 months remaining and the new place is Fibre readywith OpenNet Termination Point in the unit, The cost involved will be $160.50;

2. If your contract has less than 12 months remaining and the new place is fibre ready with OpenNet Termination Point in the unit, the cost involved will be $160.50 and an additional of 12 months will be added to your contract.

If the unit do not have the OpenNet Termination Point, additional Termination point charges will be applied.
