Actually Synology have a function to auto map your port to your router. i use that on my ac68u and synology 713+

oh so it works. thanks! i was directing to that function. it works pretty well on my current router, dont have a ac68u to test so i cannot confirm. :)

I doubt that :s13: They are starting to roll out appointments from 1/7.

Whatever problem they had before which has been delaying the installation, I think they're solved now.

That's what I heard also, unless your place really damn suay

My appointment is 3rd july. Will see

Do update here if it goes well or goes wrongly:D

what's the upload speed (theoretical) for the 300mbps download plan?

Upload is often half of download

I'm sorry but i just have to ask :s13:

Asus Ac56U or Tp-link archer c7 ?:s13: ( both around the same price. asus at 179 for MR $100 voucher and the archer c7 at $189 )

Family uses the internet for youtube videos, korean drama(iphone and pc ) and gaming( myself. using gigabit lan currently but might move to the room when router comes.)

Router is currently in the living room and my room is the room closest to it (one wall away).

which would be a better option?

Thanks in advance :)

Firstly they're not around the same price. Asus retail price should be around 279, which mean they are for different market segment. If you don't get the Asus one, the $100 voucher will be wasted, and you will need to pay an extra $10 for the TP-link. So unless there is any obvious advantage of that archer C7, just go for the Asus.

For gaming the best option is to run a cable into your room. Since your room is right next to the router, it wouldn't cause much trouble though. There is always enough space for a cable under the door.

I have both routers and they are pretty decent performers if your on wired. On wireless, the Asus RT-AC56U wins by a big margin for 2.4GHz coverage. Features wise, the prize goes to the RT-AC56U on multiple counts, from its more polished UI to the bandwidth monitoring and its already wide support for 3rd party firmware.

signup 1 GB since Jan...i will see whether they will break 1 year delay record

At first, I thought I am the only one waiting since January. I don't think I will be able to wait until next year, cuz my contract will end before one year.

Their service is horrible now. :(:(:(

totally no explanation. they said they will expedite.

when i sign on to MR, back then, their service was prompt.

now, i am thinking whether i should go for 1G or just move to another service provider...

Maybe try PM Johnnny or Nivlek here? I dont see them posting but dk if they will reply PMs or not
