Hi,

Is anyone having connection problems? I am not able to connect to the internet since last night. I am staying at Jurong west.

I am still having the problem . The router network disable poor connection.

Did you power off and on the ONT and router?

Did you receive any email regarding maintenance?

I tried 3 web browsers - Internet Explorer, Mozilla Firefox and Google Chrome also the same.

Connection is working since morning, but the ping for most EU/US server games are horrible, higher than Singtel 3G.

How do I cancel the 2nd appointment made by MR?

Yes, I was notified of the maintenance schedule on 2 Oct. I wasn't able to access internet till this morning.

Now no problem already.

In fact it goes like this:

> Wednesday Installed, cannot work right after installation; installer said have to wait until tomorrow morning (Thurs morning)
> Saturday morning, it worked when I turned the modem on

> MyRepublic came back to me despite me not calling them and offered a second appointment.

This is my Bnet download speed now. Max out around 6MB/s which is around 50Mbps?

Only happens at night.

lol I hope its the maintenance, and not because of ST and M1 joining in the 1Gbps fun

On a side note, Do anyone know how much can steam or bnet provide for users to download? I wonder now M1 and ST gets on 1Gbps will there be sufficient bandwidth provided or not.

If you mean Wednesday is your 300Mbps/1Gbps installation, then it could be Saturday morning either OpenNet connect to MR infrastructure or MR setup your profile in their servers.

I would certainly not advise anyone who's keen to sign up with my republic. Look at the complains these days you will know their standard has dropped a lot. 2 years ago when I signed up everything was fast n furious. Nowadays everything lags n YouTube keep buffering at peak hours. Even the MR rep who used to reply here and provide online help don't login anymore.

Anyway if youtube lags for you there is a good chance its your side. Some suggestions i would give u:
-Use HTML5 instead of flash because its less CPU intensive than flash. Chrome defaults it to HTML5 but firefox u will need an addon to force HTML5
-if lag and buffer is only on 2k or 4k streams it might be that your com is not good enough.

Otherwise u can give me an example and I will play it to see if it lags on my side and feedback to u immediately.

have been having an almost non-existent internet connection for 1 week already.
the network connection sucks mostly at night, 10pm onwards. i'm making this post on my data plan (again). today's (5th october) connection seemed to stop early evening... day time no problems at all.

every website i try to surf doesn't load well at all - facebook, youtube, this forums, google searches. pretty much everything.

my dad did receive an email saying there would be scheduled maintenance on 2nd oct iirc, but my internet connection has been terrible before and after that date.

im on the 1Gb plan.

I am also having this issue since i recontract to 1GB plan. It's been months that my internet connection is unstable. I will need to reboot my modem when i loses connection. Now, the issue is getting so bad that rebooting the modem does not help. Just to read this page, i need to click 8-10 times refresh!!!! Is there anyway, i can cancel my contract? Service is terrible!
