If you hard code IPv6.. you might get that to work.. I'm trying on a solution bypass using natural NAT filters
The thing is install DS files on note3 can access NHS via the app but on pc can't via IP. Wonder what's the diff

have to come to office and see lor..if someone on static *(or you use your Mobile) can access.... need to get the packet trace though.

most likely it's a keep session alive from the nas that keeps you accessing it... more like they open a backdoor to your network.

No, I'm on wire. If wifi I have nothing to say. But wire getting this kind of speed is really....:s22: :s22:

Both up & down are terrible. Worse than starhub leh.

This is the only download ongoing at the moment of screenshot.
And on direct wired connection to HG863.
Now where is the minimum 20 Mbps download speed that MR guarantees?

WewMaNq.png

In addition, the streaming video at highest resolution setting from PPTV iPad app has dropped drastically from 2000 kBps to less than 100 kBps, resulting in buffering & breaking which renders impossible enjoyment = terrible MR customer experience.

Speed to EU is only 31 Mbps & super HIGH TCP ping time of 269.4ms.
See https://app.netrounds.com/speedtest/bbq/result/53615/public/c3BlZWR0ZXN0MTM4NjU2MDkyMg==/

Please have your NOC fix these problems expeditiously.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but 20 Mbps = 2.5M/s right? Isn't that less than what you're getting? :s11:

I would setup a repeater if speed is not crucial. If not i will look at upgrading the router, and if i already have such a router i would tweak around the settings, like using 2.4ghz instead of the shorter 5ghz.

Thanks Lehnsherr for the quick pointers.

Allow me to copy and paste my inital question over here.

from the other thread:

Decided not to open a new thread and seeking advice here from the fellow owners of N66U.

Taking a chance to clear up my messy home wireless network.
Planning to get 1-2 N66U to get most if not all corners of house covered.
Attached is my home layout. Pardon me for the rough sketch.

dbm77.jpg

Planning to deploy N66U at where my existing router is.
Room 1 - iMac and 3 mobile devices.
Room 2 - PC Desktop (planning to wired to router 2), 4 mobile devices and 2 laptops.

Main concern: if getting the 2nd set of N66U

1.possible to place within room 2 but in line of sight since that is the nearest power point possible. Will signal drop alot after door close?

2. Room 2 after door close, signal drop alot?

Another question in mind now.
If setting up 2nd N66U as wireless AP, bandwidth dropped by half right?
Any other alternative to better the situation? No hacking or laying cables as will be moving within 1-2 years.
Router 1 > homeplug within living room > homeplug within room 2 > router 2?
I do have TL-PA411KIT with me so if this method can work and do not drop the signal by 50, i guess it is possible?

Appreciate advice on maximizing the N66U i am getting.
Thank you!

From the above, one can see i am a network idiot. Just trying to find ways to maximize coverage and usage of my MR subscription.

Appreciate any advice/help in advance.

So u havent got the n66u yet? I would grab 1 first then see if everything's fine before deciding what to do next.

Unless your doors are metal it will be fine. :s13:

Wireless AP - 1st router is going to connect to 2nd via LAN cable, no speed drops in that 2nd router.

Repeater - 1st router connect 2nd via wifi, speed is going to be halved in theory depending on your router model and position.

I suppose u mean repeater, cos u say no laying cables. If your desktop there is your current blind spot it is futile to put a repeater there (u got no/poor wifi to repeat). Repeater should be somewhere good signal can be obtained from 1st router, perhaps in Room 1.

homeplug will work, but depending on your entire house's electrical cabling and stuff in use. If its shitty then u are just wasting money. Cos u won't be able to resolve it.

So I still say get the 1st n66u then see how. You can also go dig out info or ask around regarding wireless ac, see if it might help to invest in 1 rather than 2 n66u (although 5ghz its supposed to be shorter in distance) but your devices must have AC access, probably the desktop is the one that needs.

Note that his download speed is 4.9Mb/s and not MB/s.

I do not know what he is saying, cos 20mbps = 2.5MB per sec, and since he is getting 4.9MB per sec...

Firefox do show downloads as KB and MB per sec, isn't it?

Edit: Just did a quick google, many say Firefox reports Kilobyte and Megabyte per sec, though it is written as "Mb/sec"....
