Like uploading 1GB file takes 2hour etc..
And
Downloading 1gb files takes 30minutes or something?

Also I wish to know the International Speed.
I got rip off from singtel by this. 500mbs .. download 300 upload 150 nd international 25mbps.. whats the point when I am most of the time on other country sites?

I doubt any question is useless and furthermore forum is for people to hold conversation.

Probably one should look at his/her attitude if one is sincerely asking a question.

More beta testers needed

Hey everyone, the initial phase of Beta testing for our 1Gbps plans is completed. We now need more testers for our pre-launch phase, so if you're interested, please send me a PM with your:

1. Name
2. Customer ID

If you don't have your customer ID on hand (or if you have just signed up), I'll need your:

1. Full Name
2. Contact Number
3. NRIC
4. Address
5. Email

Do note that the beta test is for those who've already signed up for either of MyRepublic's 1Gbps plan (the ULTRA $49.99 or GAMER $59.99 plan).

Successful applicants to the beta test will:

- be the first to try out MyRepublic's 1Gbps connection
- have their current subscriptions switched to the new one (for existing customers)
- be asked to provide feedback during the testing phase

But as places are limited (and we'd like testers spread across all regions of Singapore), we may not be able to offer beta slots to all applicants (though we'll try!).

Hope to hear from you guys soon!

MR uses different way lah.. everyone on Dynamic SHARE ONE IP ADDRESS ....huge NAT ROUTER

no matter how huge the NAT router is, the theory behind NAT is the same.

as long as both sides using the same subnet and know each other's IP address, there should not be any problem connecting to each other using IP address.

of course, if MR do something else, thats another story.

I hope MR will select beta testers based on not just location but also various aspect of internet usage. Particularly important to have testers that engage in intense downloading.

No use getting testers located in all locations but everyone is just doing youtube and facebook.

Probably you are one of a kind. Haha. I dont mean to hurt anyone, but is singapore internet customer really this stupid? They look at things that doesnt matter in an internet while they should care about the speed..

is MR's DNS having any issues?

past few days unable to resolve my own domain hosted on MR using MR's DNS, but change to other DNS, its ok.

Then yesterday, the domain resolves properly, but subdomains (CNAME) does not.
Again, other DNS servers no problem, only when using MR's DNS servers have issue.

Was thinking could be TTL issues... but somehow after a week and still not solved, something is wrong somewhere.

You host domain in singapore?
You can just be overtaken within 1minutes. Who ever run domain on singapore ip?

Actually the wall of text is not really meant for you. :s13:
On the topic, BitTorrent Sync might not work as it will depend on a middleman aka broker to facilitate the connection. This broker is on the Internet and thus the connection might be tunnel via this middleman between the 2 nodes, thus rendering this test ineffective for testing connectivity between 2 Dynamic IP users. Simplest way to test is still to use FTP or Webserver.

You can setup a webserver in minutes using Apache Welcome! - The Apache HTTP Server Project and perform port 80 forwarding to your router or you can for the duration of the test, connect directly to your ONT. From this point, you can ask your friend to try access the IP address on your router/PC and see if he can load the default Apache page.

... another post that is crap. Is this really nessesary?

Gosh. I just am crazy suddenly seeing singaporean on internet. Haha. Nvm. I think I should stop.
