It seems like a couple of users also experienced the fluctuation of download speed.

Waiting for MR staff to investigate or comment.

Using 500Mbps homeplug with a 100Mbps plan works fine. I think 500Mbps homeplug can support 200Mbps or so.

You can port SingTel number to M1 or StarHub.

Sorry I left out some detail. Currently still using starhub cable (not fiber) 50 Mbps plan highest download speed is always 2MB/s, no complain here as cable seems very steady, no peak hour issue etc . The only few time I ever lost connection is because.... Late bill payment.... Lol

As I only need internet for my study room, can direct connect from the wall coaxial to modem thus connection is steady unlike wireless. If I make the switch to eg 300 Mbps plan, then confirm need use home plug as the ont point is in the living room. Does anyone know maybe roughly how much speed I can get up to in my study room PC using a pair of home plug? If it's not able to constantly give me at least above 100 Mbps Internet traffic, then rather jus reconfract with starhub ...

P.s moble number port how does it work? Free? Permanent?

Similar experience here. Homeplug is capable of 100Mbps at the least. I suspect it to be capable of at least 200Mbps.

I suggest you look for the cheapest fibre plan. 100-200 is mostly enough if you are satisfied with cable.

i'm on Gamer 150 plan. My speedtest results are weird. It goes up to 150+ Mbps briefly and then rapidly drops back ~90+ Mbps, with about 15Mbps in upload. I'm on wired.

Anyone on the same plan experiencing this as well?

I am on MR 100Mbps. They no longer offer it though.

I can hit 100Mbps on my 500Mbps homeplug. I heard some reviews that say 600Mbps homeplug are not better than 500Mbps especially when the wires are old and noisy.

I am waiting for TrendNet upcoming 1000Mbps homeplug that uses ground or earth wire.

where is myrepublic going to get 10,000gbps bandwidth for the 10,000 subscribers?

we only got 8,484gbps for singapore

Statistics on CapacityBandwidth Services - Infocomm Landscape - Infocomm Development Authority of Singapore

Because in reality, there is no way every subscribers would use the full 1Gbps bandwidth constantly at the same time.

Peak hours would be tricky but still, most people hardly reach 100Mbps when downloading, given that most sources are from overseas.

why the government allow telcos to advertise bandwidth they can never deliver?

they should be allow to advertise at the highest speed attained in overseas speedtest and not to their own server which we never use

this is illegal in other countries

I know you like to say controversial things, but you have absolutely zero idea of what you are sprouting about.

Traffic systems are never engineered to handle 100% usage by 100% of all the users. If they are you will never get any innovations, like the Internet. You think HardwareZone is provisioned to handle traffic from 100% of Singapore's residents? 5.5 million visits at once?

What about Google.com? 6 billion visits to Google.com at once?

Don't blabber about something when you have no idea how it works. It makes you look very stupid.

Yah lor uncle.. Cannot anyhow malign our sinkie ISPs u know. No matter how shatty our internet is they always know how to make their 3rd world network hidden in a first world shell. Have to give them credit for their bullshatting advertising tactics..:s13:

And the above refers only to the traffic light isps
