Can someone explain why this happen? please ignore the speed.

SMkx7LX2.jpg

tested on IE, FF and Chrome, all local servers, BBQ too. Stock FW5656 and latest MErlin FW. On a low end notebook, I didn't experience this. like to get some clue on why this happen.

I think the clue is your low end notebook, NIC capping and restricting it maybe ?

You mean it hangs?

yes, no transmission, as if the connection was cut off.

I think the clue is your low end notebook, NIC capping and restricting it maybe ?

the test on notebook is fine, slower at ~600Mbps but no freezing. its when I'm testing on PC with intel NIC that I have problem completing the test. BBQ not only freeze, the upload test will prompt "connection closed".

maybe something somewhere in my PC is causing the issue. but I don't experienced this with PURE100 or VQ200, only MR 1Gbps.

I will test it on my other PCs later.

Hi, Sorry. Quite noob.
I want to subscribe to Netflix.
Read about teleport. Does this come with my current plan?
Or do I have to subscribe separately?

I am paying $59.00 for 100mbps

Thanks!

Quite weird
I managed to sign up with Netflix and watched some documentary.
Then when I clicked on the home button in Netflix, it says it is not available in my country.

So did teleport work and then break down?

My ASUS RT-AC56U firmware is 3.0.0.4.374_4561.

Thanks for the heads up. Saved me some effort testing the firmware one by one.

Download Speed: 857609 kbps (107201.1 KB/sec transfer rate)
Upload Speed: 474938 kbps (59367.3 KB/sec transfer rate)
Latency: 2 ms

My ONT has green lights on power port 1 and link.

Currently using a TP link Wr 1043 WN.

Internet has been disconnecting intermittently the past few days.

Some nights, tunggle(p2p gaming with my friend), Skype seem to work but browsing the net was impossible. (through my Lan connected desktop. Wireless seemed fine)

Tonight, the same thing happens. Just that wifi seems down. I'm able to use steam to chat with my friend but can't browse the store. Phone wifi indicates that I'm connected to my home network but no internet is available.

Desktop internet shows that I am connect but I still am unable to connect to the net.

Any idea what's happening? ):

BTW: USING Gamer 150mbps plan.

Thank you in advance! :)

My PC is also with Intel NIC but never encounter any hang problem during speedtest.

The test was done with 4561. I had tried 5656 and it capped the speed to around 300+mbps. When tested with the latest DD-WRT and gotten similar results of about 300mbps under for download. Its as if hardware NAT has been disabled on fw 5656 as DD-WRT don't support hardware NAT acceleration as both have similar results.

I have tested 5656 by directly upgrading over from 586 and 5656 after a factory reset both yielding the same 300mbps results on the download. In all cases, except for DD-WRT, all revision of the firmware has no issue hitting 460~480mbps on the upload. Thus this points more firmware to a buggy code on newer firmware.

It might be the TP-Link router giving way soon. Imho.. TP-Link router are cheap and good except it has a short life expectancy. Most of the TP-Link routers i deployed to sites (around 80+) dies around 2 years of use (fairly warm environment thou). The D-Link ones lasted more than 2 years before it was replaced due to EOS/EOL.

Try using MR own speedtest for a more accurate results.
speedtest.myrepublic.com.sg

The regular speedtest server fluctuate too much.

haha, this is very small case le.. heart attack will come aft you get to talk to someone and then get referred here and there AND finally said someone will call you by when but will never get any call back.

and call ten times, speak to ten different cso, get ten different answer but likely one standard ending, refer to the relevant dept and will back to you.

This is weird.

I am able to get around 740-770 Mbps with my ASUS RT-AC56U router on firmware version 5656.
