There is no more 100Mbps plans. If you want to get something along the same price (I assume your plan is the $38 dollar one), existing users can opt to go for the 300Mbps plan at $39

Yes. and to opt for that 300Mbps, I'll need to pay a OTC.

If you schedule installation date beyond your contract end date you can effectively siam the OTC. This applies for both 1Gbps or 300Mbps

I've never seen a recontract process which requires the consumer to be so careful with dates and calculations. I expect one that says, "ok, your new plan will start effectively at the end of your new contract at the new price. full stop."

I'm now almost two months to end of contract and the estimation date for the installation date for recontract of 300Mbps is Q3. The option for recontract online states a OTC. If I wait further, I risk having to pay full amount, if I don't wait, I have to pay OTC. I must say thought i've been fairly satisfied with MR, I do not trust their billing unit.

Thanks for the clarifications. I'm now leaning even more towards termination (which if MR honours their promise due to a miscomm, I'll get it for free).

What they practiced now is very unorthodox, cos it has a 2 tier process. Opt-in and installation confirmation. Its very hard to understand and you are not the only one confused.

Its stated OTC chargeable because when you opt-in your contract still haven't expired. I've seen them saying that price will remain the same if you have opt-in when your contract has expired but you have to call in and confirm again.

If you have not scheduled any installation date, I mean actual date not the quarterly estimation during opt-in, you are free to terminate without paying any penalty, provided you have fulfilled your existing contractual terms.

The website indicates:
$48.15 Termination Fee (includes ONT collection if applicable. Customers who do not have to pay this fee will have to return the ONT at their own cost)
- Only for Residential customers on No Contract

So No contract termination pays $48.15. If you're on contract, you pay Total sum of monthly charges for the remaining contract period.

I wonder how much one pays if I terminate one day before contract ends?

Actually its for the ONT collection. So either u pay $48.15 or u return them yourself. The latter is of course cheaper when you go yourself. I am not sure whether they allow courier or not though.

It depends on your billing cycle. One thing universal is that they bill in advance. For my own bill if I were to terminate one day before contract ends I won't kena a fee because I would have paid for that month already during the previous month.

EDIT: If they are billing us in advance I dont think anyone will kena if they terminate one day before contract ends.

Hi guys. If I recontract my pure 100 plan to pure 300 plan now, how long would they take to install my service? I ask this because my contract expires in a month and I heard that the wait is pretty long.

My desktop is roughly 1 yr old and is mid range. I suppose it should went up to 950Mbps?

I want to know the bottom neck is it on my device or is it MR. Cause it may be either one of them.

Of cos I hope MR have tester to check on my connection. Waiting for their help.

Will they help???

my PC is about the same age as yours.

Are you using the onboard NIC or another NIC ?

Update driver yet ?

anyone on 1Gbps but only getting 300+D/L and 400+U/L direct from ONT.

any pro can help?

see previous posts i mentioned earlier, FOR MY CASE, it was the NIC (Network Interface Controller), my Realtek 8119 was capping me @ 500Mbps. Switched back to onboard NIC on my motherboard and it shot up to 950Mbps, never looked back since.

Its really hard to pinpoint unless you have another PC or Laptop (new gen), or Macbook etc.

how's MR so far?

they only offer the 1gbps plan? a bit overkill. :s13:

I see the 1Gbps plan as 2 parts - speed and price.

At $49.99/month for 1Gbps plan, it could be one of the best bang for money plans but MR customer service is very bad as of now.

Anyone using Android devices to watch Netflix, using MR's Teleport DNS service?

If you are getting error 12001's, I've figured out how to solve that. It turns out you cannot simply pipe DNS requests to 8.8.8.8 / 8.8.4.4 into a black hole (it used to work), the newer versions of the Netflix app on Android expects some reply. So, to solve that, you need to have access to iptables on your router, and execute these commands,

iptables -t nat -A PREROUTING -d 8.8.8.8 -j DNAT --to-destination 103.11.48.190
iptables -t nat -A PREROUTING -d 8.8.4.4 -j DNAT --to-destination 103.11.48.126
iptables -A FORWARD -d 103.11.48.190 -j ACCEPT
iptables -A FORWARD -d 103.11.48.126 -j ACCEPT

Error 12001 is gone, have fun!
