Fantastic speed for the AC bridging. Faster than what my homeplug can do.

I need a 4x4 wireless bridge to break 1Gbps barrier.. waiting for Asus RT-AC87U or RT-AC3200 (2x3x3 if can team 2 channels of 5Ghz) to arrive. :D

I am now testing the result of bt download of 10GB over the bridge... looks very good at the moment.

Edit: 10GB BT completed full download in 43min!

That was good speed. where location of both?

Both in living room - one end at TP point, one end near entrance of my bedrooms where the network utility stuffs are sitting. 10m apart.

the longer the distance, the worst 5Ghz signal drops.

icic, wonder if performance is same as PCE-AC68 + AC68U compare to AC68U x 2

any expert out there who have any solution

Hello.

I finally hop onto myrepublic 1gbps 1 week ago. I am currently using the AC56U router and its connected to my pc by the cable provided in the box (wired connection).

I did a speed test with my firewall on and here's the result.
download: 619.69 mbps
upload: 476.08 mbps

I did a speed test again with my firewall off.
download: 734.54 mbps
upload: 476.60 mbps

The speed has increased.

I am currently using the following network card :
Marvell Yukon 88E8057 PCI-E Gigabit Ethernet Controller

I'm not sure if this is an accurate indication whether my network card is capable of supporting 1gbps:
img7.uploadhouse.com/fileuploads/19541/19541147e7334b5fcc9419ca1cdf4082413b3005.jpg

I am disappointed with the present speed that I'm getting, does anyone have any solution on how I can even get close to 1gbps?

Bro, ignore this speedtest on local servers. What are you going to do on the Singapore's servers? Even if it gives you 1Gbps it doesn't mean to have better speeds when you're downloading games or movies or watch stream on Twitch, etc...

That will not work for me. PCE-AC68 is internal card in PC which is at the media bridge end (inside room behind walls). The current AC media bridge is bottleneck

Technically, if it is just one AC68U + PCE-AC68 and within 5Ghz range without signal degrade/loss, it can cap throughout at 1.3Gbps (ie max 1Gbps down/500Mbps up)

Try a few times.. here are some stuffs you can try:
1. Update the AC56U with latest firmware
2. Turn QoS in router to OFF
3. Update your network card driver if possible. The card is already Gb capable...else you won't get 700+

Thank you for your reply Simon. :)

On the day of the installation, there wasn't any software installed into my home desktop pc.

1&2. Sounds technical and I'm ignorant in these aspects. Mind guiding me on updating the router firmware and turning the QoS off? Thank you. :)

3. Done. But still no changes in the download speed. :(

Try PC direct to ONT using CAT 5e/6 LAN cable.

Speedtest should only use MyRepublic's own speedtest server http://speedtest.myrepublic.com.sg/ as other servers might not have a 1Gb link and the results would be capped at the link's bandwidth.

You can probably follow skn_16's advice to test with direct connection from ONT to isolate if it is the ASUS AC56U router firmware version issue.
