hi anyone have issue with bandwidth randomly being capped, one moment I can speedtest and get 800+mbps then I go to sleep and wake up and speedtest and it stuck at 99mbps can't pass 100. It is trying very very hard to pass but it cannot lol

I off and on my router and it fixes it but now it does not, anyone have any idea what could be the cause :s11:

try changing cable.

Any existing MR user got the Comex HP deal - the free 12 months one?
Did they call you and said that it was signed up as a new customer?

MR people called me up and said that it is a new application. Does it work this way?
I thought existing customer whose contract ends before 30th Sept 2014 are eligible for the HP Comex deal as well.

My understanding is that I bought the HP laptop and I will be changing my plan from the existing plan to the new 1GB plan with the first 12 months free.
I will not be bind by a 24 months contract as stated on the promotion brochure.

"1. For current subscribers who are interested in re-contracting the laptop promo, only contract ending 30 september 2014 or before is eligible."

Maybe they terminate your existing one and sign u up as new customer.

From my understanding of the brochure and that they called you up, your existing connection will be terminated, then that 1Gbps will be of no contract whatsoever, and free for a year, then they start to charge you for 13th month onwards if you didn't terminate.

But best is you call them up to confirm. or PM nivlek1985

Take note: if you already agreed upon a fixed installation date, then you will be liable for termination charges.

Currently with starhub 50Mbps cable plan but my cable modem support only 32Mbps.

PC running on a core 2 duo E6550 with 3gb ram

wot ping around 20 to 50

BT around 2.6Mpbs

iptv paid streaming so far 90% very smooth
(thanks to gregory_choo, whoooo, low123, Callow Guy and some other for helping me with the chinese at taobao and iptv)

Next

i give a starhub a call on termination charges jus now , less then 5 min someone pick up my call (i never hold the phone longer then 20min with starhub, i am a hubclub member, i call many times over the last 5 year with starhub on mobile, cable TV, cable)

i call MR on termination charges, waited 45min still no one pick up call. so i go the online chat at MR site, also no reply after 1 hour. And i have not even start my contract.

i need to pay $297 grand total.

if after installation it the amount of the contract left which is around $1300 unless there hidden charges

i think i pay them $297 (greedy on my part for the buy back offer, (also very heng i no need to live with the mistake for 2 year with MR )and i think i will sign with M1 100Mbps in 8 month time when i contract is up

sorry to say. take my $297 MR and bye

Thats good for you. I have never been picked up under 30 minutes when I called up starhub. :s13: (moral of story is everyone has their own experience with any providers.)

Personally I have never called MR or use their live chat, but I have never seen people say their hotline and live chat is good. Only saw all the bad comments. :s22:

Usually I get things done by PM their staff here.

I can do much better on BT on MR (which is MR's strength)

What do you mean by you need to pay them $297? My suggestion is that if they already called you for an installation date, you better check with them for any charges with regards to cancellation.

Maybe you should consider staying with starhub since you are hub club member (for all the perks and all that if u want)

My relatives are using M1 300Mbps and I tested BT to be fine and good during weekends daytime, but youku performance was much lower than MR 1Gbps.

BT around that speed i have is good enough, i just start the BT and few days later it 100% downloaded, i alway download before i need it. so not a problem to me even if your bt is 20Mbps vs 2.6Mbps(mine)

Bro I want to make clear to you that I am not the sales agent of MR. I replied to you purely out of good intention just to inform you with regards to the cancellation charges. It was not meant to change your decision on not terminating with MR.

If you confirmed the cancellation fee thats good.

Cos youku is free? lol. :D

Feels like MR trying to make me pay them another month's subscription by not allowing me to cancel. Is there no way to contact anyone besides wasting more than 30mins waiting on the phone? Already tried live chat and email..
