I wonder why their boss let the good MyRepublic image become so bad.
I still remember last time we all so support MyRepublic and they are few MyRepublic personnel very responsive here.

Share some experience for people looking to sign up with them. The problems continue to haunt me after my line has been terminated.

My contract was up, and line was terminated a few days back.(THANK GOD) Good thing was that my appointment for the guy to come collect the fibre equipment was 9-1, and he came on time. Really nice guy too.

The problem is somewhere else though. Before returning the equipment, i realized that my line was still up and running. Weird as the collection date was actually a day or 2 after the termination. Surely they would have gotten opennet to release the port?

Well, i held on to that thought and went on to call my to-be new ISP. I was told that my port has not yet been released by opennet, and there was no way for me to sign for a new connection. (Both ports are in use)

Well at this point i was still ok with things. I thought that maybe it just takes time for opennet to release the port. Nothing wrong with MR side.

So i called up MR and asked them(It takes hours btw, for them to pick up the call, the fastest was about an hour and a half), I was told that they needed 6 hours to check such a simple thing. Remembering my past experience with them(If anyone doesn't know, they will probably not call back), I told them that it was unacceptable, i need an answer now. I got my answer just 2-3mins later. (Seriously you need 6 hours to do something you could have done in 3mins)

The answer was that they have already terminated the connection, and it is was on opennet side that the port has not been released by them. Additionally the CSO told me that it usually takes 1-5 working days for them to process it. That phone call was yesterday.

Today i called up opennet (I was hopeful). Instead of hearing that they will need a few more days to release my port, i was instead told that MR HAS NOT gave them the order to release the port, hence they are unable to proceed with removing the port.

Seriously, just a ****ing nightmare.

You want to sign up with them? 1GBPS fast speed internet at good price? Please don't do it. Totally not worth it. Let's not talk about all the flaws about their connection that may not affect you, or all the billing issues. Let's not talk about how a company that claims they are about providing the best high speed fiber experience, constantly have connection issues.

Let me just ask you to think about the customer service, I have been with Singtel for years, and i am proud to say, Singtel does better.

Now then, time for a 3 hour long wait before they pick up my call and have them tell me they will settle my problem. (Bet it won't be done)

Should have called in before typing this :D

Anyway to complain? Will CASE do anything?

TLDR : Want to signup? Don't do it. Why? Don't be lazy and read the threads (Part 1-4) :D OR at least my post, if you choose to believe me.

Online chat - waiting until disconnect also no reply
Email the support - still processing

you got pop up blocker ?
the chat is by zopim.

Does chrome block it automatically? Actually it doesn't even appear on IE, so i guess its not about pop up blocking.

No matter though, experience from last year tells me that the live chat promises something and it doesn't get done. Maybe it works for you though :s22:

Who can help? I signed up for 1Gbp in Feb and was told to wait till my contract ends in Sep. Aug, the sales guy from MR called me to arrange for transferring my 100Mbps to 1Gbps and we set it on 5 Sep. Then a few days before it they called and say "DUE TO RESOURCE CONSTRAINT" they will carry on with the appointment for the opennet guys to come while they will arrange another date once the opennet guy has completed. As the MR guy so how long after the opennet guy had completed will MR guy come to fix and they say next day they will call to arrange.

The opennet guy came and did his stuff, but the MR guy never called back. Left a chat email on MR website to "follow up" but no reply from then till now. Called the MR phone line and they say they will pass it to the technical people to follow up. But still no reply after almost 3 weeks. The fact is that I been paying the $59+ all these while knowing that if I got transferred to the 1Gpbs, I will pay lesser, but no saving at all now.

Anyone care to advise what I can do...MR started off with good services 2 years back, but now it failed big time.....really disappointed!

You still want to continue with them? If you do then I'd say call in, and ask for things to be done on the spot.

cause they got the critical mass of customer to self generate revenue liao..no need to provide good customer service to entice new sign up....

their altitude is akin to "EDMWer **** off my back. complain all you want on forum"

Haha crying thread. 1gbps $49/mth 6 month free. If it's too good to be true it's probably not.

Of course pay less get less. However for a certain group of consumers they will always go for best deals. Nothing wrong with that. Then some can afford premium stable service, but there are also some people who can't. For what laugh at those who can't saying pay peanuts get monkeys? I am sure if some people are not facing budget constrain they already went with premium service.

Whats wrong here is MR unable to deliver facing immense response. Resulting in delays in installation, solving people's problem. They should have set a quota for the 1Gbps connection, then stopped taking in customers when its hit

when i was a young man i once tot i pay for 1gps i will get 1gps. whichever the the application for internet purpose.

then i realize that legally i can get ****** over.

if ppl facing budget constrain then they should be getting adsl. within the range of ngbb. is the premium service really considered premium? its about 20 more. smoke less 1 packet of Marlboro and skip 1 starbucks latte and they can afford the "premium service"

if we can quantify the entire internet service provided to you regardless of which ISP is around. im sure it all evens out. (cheap + sh1t service + required emails to MR + required calling in + required pestering)/49 = (premium service)/69.

spare me the MR shld set a quota and stop taking in customers when they hit. cooperations are greedy and profit driven. if the health care and public transport services in the country we live in is ALREADY about maximizing profits rather then providing a sustainable public service? what more about the ISPs here.
