Not to sound like I am trying to defend MR.. but I have been enjoying amazing speed on MR (i don't twitch and for most of my use, BT, youtube, fc2 etc.. was fast) as well since their initial launch to the current 1Gbps.

End of the day, which ISP to is use is up to you but I would suggest you don't go around basing ISP with your own assumption. Don't assume for example Twitch is the only thing people use on the internet and condemn an ISP to no end.

Twitch TV was working previously no problem which was why I renewed. Now it's not working and MR seems uninterested to fix it. Now how can I not blame the ISP for not fixing something that is not working, and something I am paying to use?

I was quite a fan of MR back in the days, always recommend to my friends. But right now? No way I will recommend them again.

But I guess in Vulpix's case, he was trying to stream to twitch, not watching twitch streaming. That one... is abit peculiar. cause it should be on the Singapore ingestion server.Might sharing in this case is it dropped frames,or just unstable latency? Maybe you can try a MTR to live-sin-backup.twitch.tv

Pretty sure its local judging from the IP http://whois.domaintools.com/216.185.101.74 , so there shouldn't be latency/packet loss.

The other one would be on LAX server for watching I understand, and that one probably can be resolved if they purchase/setup peering with another provider and re-route to one of Justin tv's peers instead of relying on level3

As a former MR user that just switched to VQ, I must say that speeds for almost every area of the internet are vastly superior with VQ.

I am regularly hitting the connection limit for international connections where the server-side capacity allows.

Of course if you are happy with MR do stay with them.

There is a fine line between justified complain(s) and baseless calls. As in my previous reply, one is free to share what is not working for them and recommend against the service for other users who uses those frequently and not saying everything is wrong. Just like in real life, you don't tell people that this person is bad without sharing with them the reason on what makes them bad.

Change ISP or not... I am still on contract and thus in the interests of practicality, I wouldn't be picking up another ISP plan and that is at least for this point in time. I don't have a strong reason to change for now as most(maybe all of my usual ones) of the application and sites I visit have no issue. This doesn't mean MR is good, it only means if another potential user who uses the same set of Internet sites, service and application will most likely not face any issues.

I was with them since the start as well and its disappointing to say at least their service quality isn't as good as it used to be. As the same with you, if someone ask for a recommendation, for sure MR wouldn't be on the first of my list as well.

Both cases it's lagging for me. I can't watch streams, and I can't stream properly. I used OBS to stream to the cali server last time no problem, now I stream to the SG Asia server or cali, no difference. My viewers say very choppy.

Try changing to beta version of OBS, and use NVENC for encoding?

Also maybe check if your tracert got any weird results. to the ingestion for SG server. @.@

Drop me a PM also with your twitch, if u streaming and I'm free I'll help check it out.

I don't see any reason to be using a beta version of OBS, I dont like using beta software. I tried NVENC and x264 and same issue, lower the quality also still super choppy for people watching it. I haven't changed any of my settings before the upgrade to 1gbps, now it's just full of problems with twitch.

Since I can't even watch streams properly, I think it's going to be tricky to actually monitor my own stream.

Quick update on the Twitch situation, I've been in contact with both support staff from Twitch and MyRepublic and have sent both parties tracerts to some sample streams (I told them it's happening on all for us) and they said they will be reviewing it to see if they can do anything. At least MR support is finally responding, I hope they take this seriously because I've mentioned its a huge problem for all of us and linked this thread and the other one. I'll be posting more on the other thread, once I hear back again from them.

I am not sure if the issue of inability to use after 10 pm only occurred at certain areas because I have never encountered before on my end.

Having this issue at the start of the week. Net is pretty much unusable from 9pm onwards.

It's kinda saddening when my downloads and all are not affected, even when gaming it's fine. Just this one problem that is really annoying me since I'm on a "gamer" plan and I'm 99% sure gamers check out Twitch a lot for their eSports events.

i started streaming on twitch yesterday. Comments from my little bit of viewers: they do not experience any lag or buffering and quality is good

Exactly, I mean for all their advertising and support for gamers, uncapped downloads and streaming its really quite disappointing to see Twitch buffer like it does.

I must be that 1% that doesn't twitch. I only play a limited amount of games like D3, GW2, Simcity, BF series and specifically avoid WoW and LoL and variants. So far, latency to servers are quite acceptable, D3/GW2 it seems has a slightly higher latency ST/VQ but by far after a few hundreds hours of play, can be considered stable as many of my other friends on other ISP has their shares of disconnects etc.. I have seen very limited occurrence for myself on the old 150Mbps Gamer and the current 1Gbps Gamer.

I used to be quite an active DOTA player so I enjoy watching DOTA 2 tournaments. :D ESL is coming up this weekend, and I dread streaming it this weekend.
