thinking of switching to myrepublic from m1. but realised that my republic is now majority owned by starhub.

so i wanted to ask existing users whether u experience any slowdown in internet speed e.g. gaming, download/upload speed etc?

Will you be getting? I'm also tempted but not sure if its worth the dual fibre, although the router itself is veryyy tempting.

Am a SH user currently but looking out to recontract...

Most likely... was considering Singtel initially because i didnt really like MR's highest option of AX3000. But now that the AX11000 is available, it's kinda a no brainer if you prefer ONT over ORT (Singtel)

I'm eligible for recontract, is it really worth to get this plan?
Depending on the router u r using i guess... the AX11000 is definitely a significant step up from the AX3000.
If you already have a good router, then going for a broadband only plan makes more sense cos its cheaper.

If now MR belongs to SH, will there be throttling for p2p?

Maybe its time for me to revert back to VQ instead

i'm not getting any answers as to whether MyRepublic is essentially just Starhub lite now. i'm on the gamer plan. what i'm seeing is that all international routing is basically now a mirror of Starhub, going via Starhub's servers also. if MR is as independently run as they say they still are, custom routing for Gamer subscribers should still be valid, right? emailed them some requests few days ago but still haven't heard back. the silence is deafening.

oh snap. was considering m1 for the ax3000 since i "don't" think i need the 11000. and the pinned thread is usually saying m1 or SH (in some way MR) is good if theres a promo going on .

What is your pushing factor to switch to another ISP? If it is because of monthly subscription, VQ is also not the cheapest.

No pushing factors. Only that I don't like the fact that I'm paying MR price for SH's service.
But that's just me and humble opinion. No right no wrong.

I also just recontract this year since there is no major issue for me at that point of time. If it isn't broken, don't fix it.

I may switch to another ISP if things go south but that will be until 2024.
