Hi Folks! Just recontracted the gamers plan 10gbps, was recommended dual tp link be 805 to use in mesh. Any one has any complaints so far? I was thinking maybe I should have gone for the Asus be 25000 instead. Will it work if I put the be 25000 at the blue circle position?

Your service yard and master bedroom is likely to have bad connection but probably usable. Honestly if you are getting 10gbps, it would be better to at leasat run cable to the room 2 for the wifi there so all the room will get a decent 5Ghz signal. Basic rule of thumb is 5Ghz can pierce about 1 thin wall without much problem. To get 10G you need wifi 7 on 6Ghz which cannot even pierce one wall. Anyway does the gamers plan actually give you better experience apart from game?

thanks for the advice buddy. oh im actually not sure about the gamers plan, I'm on their 1gbps normal plan currently, just thought of giving it a try this re-contract. I scheduled for installation 2 weeks from now, if you are keen I can give my 2 cents when it's up.

Yap that would be nice, I am supposed to sign a contract in 2 weeks time too, either 3 gbps gamer or 10gbps regular. Always prefer better routing to fatter pipe, but not sure if it is really better.

take the 3gbps gamer. you wont felt the different with the extra 7gbps, but a liitle snappy with gamer. due to the lower latency.

That is what I am thinking as well but not sure if the better routing applies on all traffic to a certain region or only to specific game server.

Got connected to MR 10Gbps Gamer plan yesterday

I don't have a 10GbE connection so can only do the test on the router itself. So far I'm very impressed with the responsiveness when it comes down to just browsing websites, especially China websites feel very smooth. It used to take 10+ seconds to load taobao on VQ.

For anyone wondering, playing games I think 3GBs connection is enough, Steam caps out at 2.7-2.9Gbps for me and Battle.net caps out at 390MB/s so also around 3.1Gbps.

Based on the past test reports, MR gamer plan is said to have the best routing to China among consumer ISPs. SingTel is probably the second.

M1 and SIMBA are the worst in this aspect. VQ is also not good.

But this seems totally different from the recent post above and also there is another post by xiaofan that summarize the ping to china. So I suspect is gamer plan have a set of better routing to various place which may or may not be game and it maybe side effect of the optimization for games. Since I doubt they want to optimize ip by ip so they will look at this server provider in this DC and try to fix the route thereby indirectly helping other traffic going to places that may hit that point as part of the routing.

Don't trust about optimization route for games, all BS and went downhill after SH takeover MR

you go see their live monitor ping chart will know liao, while it's true gamer plan have "better" china route compare to their ultra game but worth the extra money up to user

Want to get some advice. My 10G plan with MR is ending soon. Now looking at my options in the market. Want to check. If I terminate my plan after passing the 2 years contract term, what do I need to return to MR? Only the ONT or I need to return both the ONT and the router? thanks.

For those renewing contracts with MR, do check your bills.

I renew my contract from 1gbps to 3gbps, and found them charging me early termination fees for Home Voice (it was not installed anyway since my 1st day with them as i dun need it).

Talked to their CS, yes, if you dont bring it up to them, they wont review/reverse it as its automatically generated by system. Thus be careful....

had a super bad experience with MR.. just signed up the 10gbps gamer plan with MRXSMART promo from singsaver, MR page shows $66.99/mth with 2 months free + discount on router, yet my plan suddenly charge $74.99? CS via email is completely pathetic and cannot understand the situation.

Thing is.. even on website without promo, the most expensive plan is 69.99...

Even the contract is strange, description says '$150 router top up" at the top but "$900 discount" at the bottom and charged me $199 o_O
