looks like Steam servers in SG can reach speed cap of 5Gbps connections, if only there was a more reliable 10Gbps card

Anyone encountered this issue, when playing YouTube video at 2160p60, the streaming isn't smooth. Quite disappointed with MR

just tested a few videos, no prob though :)

only those videos that are often watched will be cached by the cdn edge location that is closer to sg, if it isn't cached need to fetch from further server, that's why experience may vary.

m1 here also same, that's why i set to 1440p as my default

yeah thought so too

indeed some old game videos do take some time to load, but, as for smooth streaming, most of the time im good :)

You can consider selling the bundled router. Top up HB710 at S$50 but you can sell at about S$150 BNIB or slightly lower.

Usual price is at S$192 from StarHub shop cash and carry.

By the way, it is ridiculous for StarHub and MR to say the HB710 is worth S749. Even EB810v, Archer BE805 and HB810 are not worth S$749.

EB810v is at S$360 cash and carry from StarHub Shop, and a bit cheaper BNIB in Carousell.

Archer BE805 is a bit cheaper than S$300 BNIB in Carousell. MR claims it is worth S$799.

to be fair, that IS the RRP, and the main reason why it's only $300 BNIB is because MyRepublic didn't give you an option to not get the router when signing up for the 10Gbps plan, so most people just dumped it on the market to recoup some of the cost

(and I suppose there aren't enough people willing to pay $500+ for this on Carousell now, so...)

Hi for those connected to 6Ghz, on your Apple devices, is it normal for the connected 6ghz SSID to show 'Limited Compatibility'?

Thanks in advance :D

Can my republic issued routers be used with other telcos?

Also, does MR routers use custom firmware on their routers? Or official?

Yes you can (even for HB710).

All the routers provided by MyRepublic for 3Gbps/10Gbps plans are consumer models with the exception of TP-Link HB710.

HB710 is TP-Link Service Provider model so it is better to avioid it. The FW update may be slow and not available from public website. The FW updates of EB810v/HB710/HB410 are managed by Starhub together with TP-Link. HB710 FW has not been updated for one year even though I consider it as pretty stable.

Singtel provides public website for FW updates of Singtel issued HB810 and HB611-SGST. So you can download the firmware even if you are not using Singtel Fibre Internet.
https://www.singtel.com/personal/support/broadband/how-to-download-latest-firmware

But I will recommend TP-Link Archer BE805 over EB810v/HB810/HB710 for users of other ISPs.

Thanks. Anyway TP Link got back to me and said that this router is an ISP issued router and the firmware is apparently not from their official website.

Hence they concluded that it could be faulty.

But anyway so far the router is still working fine so I am kinda lazy to RMA it. Just that I have to live with these bugs which I mentioned in the thread.

Best to RMA so that any potential issues can be recitfied. Yes, it's a PITA but best to get it done and over with since never know what issues it might further cause.

Anyway just an update

Went to convergent to RMA and they gave me the BE805 instead.

Is this similar to the Archer AXE300?
