But how reliable in TPG? Can it be better than m1? Don’t jump from one shithole to another.

dun think TPG can be better than m1 anyway.

I am using red now all the time after trying all 3 traffic lights telcos for many times.

data keeps dropping for me. Calls no problem
I have been having issues with data on my iPhone 13 pro recently, over the past few weeks. I live and work in Ang mo Kio and Serangoon gardens areas.

Data just becomes super slow or stops working, out of the blue. Can't connect to anything including basic messenging like telegram or whatsapp. I switch to airplane mode and back on again, it sometimes solves the problem, sometimes not. Random. And then it unlocks for some reason and works normally again for a while.

My wife is reporting similar issues on iPhone 13 pro as well.
We are under the 18GB plan and are well below our usage threshold (we use about half)

@believe88 does this sound like the same issues you are having?

I am seriously considering leaving MR due to these issues. I had been at M1 for 3 years and I wanted to get a better deal (i was paying $25 for 30GB and used 10GB per month. So I went for MR $10 for 18GB. Better deal, but whats the point if it doesnt work??)

My MR line failed to latch on Malaysia partners network automatically while inside JB. Need to search manually to link with Digi. Very disappointed.

Stated on MR FAQ and seems both Digi and Celcom will work:

Make sure that you are on our supporting roaming partner's network
  • Do choose the network provider manually* on your phone to make sure that you are on MyRepublic supported network, a list of supported roaming partner's network can be found here

Update: 1st NOV. MR doesn't make it easy for roaming?? Arrived in Malaysia, change connections to manual and try to search for a partner telcom. Both CELCOM & DIGI appears as (forbidden) !! After trying for an hour, I click on Digi even though it appears as forbidden and it actually connects. My SMS started coming in after that. Note I did not subscribe to roaming data packages. Still not sure with how it works.

Oh dear I just get to know there is this deposit thingy for MR. I just initiate porting to MR from Singtel this morning, will they ask for deposit later on and deduct my CC automatically or they will ask first?

They will ask for deposit upfront upon signing up, will not be charged to first bill. If you are not hit with the deposit when you sign up on their website/shop, it's likely you do not need deposit.

MR randoms deposit for people signing up. Based on feedback from users pages back, some are turned off by the deposit upon signing up. They decided to not sign up as they have to pay the $100 before proceeding.

purely for esim ? not worth the trouble.
I have the same intention but gonna wait for until there's other alternatives.

On the lowest $10 plan with esim purely for calls & sms. MR data connections sucks and I get 1-2 bars when at home but managed 100mbps d/l spd at Changi airport, not sure about elsewhere.

Roaming is ok, took me a while to get it to work but was able to receive calls & sms. The physical slot on my phone I leave it for local data card OR change it over to overseas sim card when I travel.

esim is available at MR. MR is using M1, generally fine for me, had use MR before, but not on eSIM. If you are looking for esim, MR is good option.
