Only seeing 2 bars lit up on network signal indicator....is this normal?
depending on location, if network coverage & strength is not strong for that particular location then a 2 bars signal can be normal. I normally get a 1-2 bar signal strength with MR (which is under M1) in my residence while the Starhub (RedOne) will show full bars on the same phone

invoice came very late this month probably due to GST changes and their IT could not cope. Mine was late 1 week.

I received the email from MR just now regarding the 5G upgrade, but their website took me more than a minute to get through. Then, it keeps reminding me that not all the 5G phones are supported, I'm the unlucky one, my iPhone12ProMax is not on the support list! Should I upgrade my phone as well? o_O
Did anyone had experienced the MR5G yet? How was it?
I'm using MR4G, always get disconnected when passing Khatib MRT.

don't change your phone just because it is incompatible. It is not worth the money to change to a new phone just for 5G. Moreover, 5G now is not that stable for the 4 operators (Singtel. M1, Starhub and Simba).

For MR, their 5G network will change to Starhub 5G network. Hence, it indicates a need to change sim card. MR will also use Starhub 5G SA/NSA network. There sure to have many connectivity issues. Just wait out, before 5G becomes stable.

For existing MyRepublic mobile customers, login to your MyAccount > go to ‘Manage My Plans’ to upgrade to 5G!
Do note that a new 5G eSIM or physical SIM card will be issued. You may continue using your existing SIM until the temporary number on your 5G SIM is replaced by your own number when the number porting is completed.

i always thought myrepublic is m1 network .. didnt know it has changed
refer to the write up here, they checked with myrepublic.
https://en.ocworkbench.com/myrepubl...lans-at-19-95-mth-and-29-95-mth-respectively/
Because there is a need to change SIM card for 5G plans. Even existing customers who wants to change plans will need a new sim. Changing new sim happened before with MyRepublic when they changed from Starhub to M1. Now they are going backwards back to Starhub

Yeap saw it is a brand new SIM with SA .. better than MVNO using NSA i guess for the price. $19.95/mth (U.P. $24.95/mth) better price for 5g plans compared to most MVNO in singtel too

So their 5G plans are on Starhub and 4G plans are on M1?

Or both going to be on Starhub?

What is Standalone 5G Network?
5G Standalone (SA) and 5G Non-standalone (NSA) are the two models of 5G deployment.

5G SA offers a 5G New Radio (NR) access network based on an end-to-end core 5G network, while 5G NSA offers 5G radio signals using an existing 4G LTE core. Both 5G SA and 5G NSA networks offer increased speeds, better response time, and superior reliability when compared to a 4G network – with 5G SA delivering best-in-class performance.

MyRepublic offers 5G service on both 5G SA and NSA networks.

Quote from the article:
5G is available for everyone who sign up for a MyRepublic 5G plan. Simply select your preferred 5G plan, choose eSIM or physical SIM, activate the mobile service, and you’re good to go! Do note that to enjoy 5G access, a compatible 5G device is required. Check out the list of compatible devices.

Update : We checked with MyRepublic, their 5G plan will require a reissue of a new 5G SIM card and the plan runs on Starhub not M1.
Unquote

If 5G eSIM, still running on Starhub? Does Starhub have eSIM?
