My porting finally went through after almost 2 days from the initial request.

I don’t know how CL is going to fight MR on this new 5G plan - you get more data, minutes and talk time for a lower price, with better connectivity! How to win sia.

It seems like Myrepublic 5G SA plans (SH) are sharing the with M1 on the same network.

Yea, not only will affect circles life, definitely will affect all telcos and they might need to update their 5G plans too. Competition is good for us, consumers!

This also means that starhub finally supports esim after so a few years!

Samsung S21 Ultra 5G is not in MR 5G phone listing, contacted through fb and was told not supported but still can opt for their 4G services. MR is a joke.

Existing MR 4G Plan users are allow to "upgrade" to the 5G plan without having to port out and in again. Can also select eSIM during this upgrade if one was using physical SIM card previously
The previous comments from Magix was that, for existing 4G physical to e-sim, had to port out and back in.

For your comment on upgrading to 5G, yes, what you said might or might be true as I do not have the info. If it is, that's great for exisiting users for convenience.

When I did the plan upgrade, at one point the system asked if you wanted a physical or eSIM. I selected eSIM and the email with a new eSIM QR came within a minute upon confirmation.

I supposed it is possible since there is a change in network provider and a new SIM card has to be issued no matter which choice one decided on.

I don't have 5G phone, so sign up for that plan also will force me to use 4G on M1 right?
The new 5G plan rides on Starhub network. APN is shwap; i.e., SH Data Postpaid. If one sign up the NEW 5G PLAN, will connect to Starhub network regardless if on 4G or 5G when using the SIM card.

The existing MR 4G ONLY plans apparently continues to ride on M1 network, APN is Sunsurf.

I think the M1 plans will eventually be phased out with Starhub already a majority owner in MR's Broadband business, especially seeing how competitively priced their 100GB 5G plans are compared to the competition's 100GB 4G.

Hopefully they allow downgrade from 5G to 4G plans when all plans are migrated to Starhub network. Suspect the reason many sign up the 5G plan now just to enjoy the combination of eSIM + non-M1 network.

Honestly I think not too many care about esim now, at least until Apple make all new iPhones esim only 😂

people care more about price and bundles…

I'm currently on gomo with next billing cycle on 17 feb.
If switch to SIM card MR 5G plan (me using S21 ultra), roughly i should sign up when ah?
Got date to specify for the porting over?
1 week allowance enough right? (10 feb)

I just applied mine yesterday so long you get the Sim and haven't activate you can plan accordingly to port your no, which usually 1-2 working days.. Since it is pH Monday and Tuesday factor this in..
