Does anyone know how the billing for upgrade to 5g plan works (from myrepublic 4g).?
Want to upgrade from 4g, but i just recently paid the 4g january bill and if i upgrade to 5g, do i have to pay the 5g january bill ? or just pay the difference(compared to my 4g plan) only?

Spoken to the cs at their physical shop and they confirm 5G is riding on StarHub, 4G plan is still with m1.
Hmmm but I just did a speed test when my connection is showing 4G and speedtest.net says it’s using StarHub eh.

Base on the 5G apn setting is for StarHub. I believe both 4/5g on this plan will be on StarHub network.

since MyRepublic has a special relationship with StarHub wouldn’t be surprise they might later moved everyone back to SH again. (If that happen in near future is a damn exciting news). Sick of m1 coverage and full bar but no data issue. StarHub is much more stable when compared to m1

was surprise that esim options was offer since StarHub don’t seems to offer esim to it direct customer.

My office has poor StarHub 4g connectivity. Not sure if 5g signal will be better since most telco stop investment or enhance 4g.

I see the 5g coverage soso only. Think shall stick with Vivifi 4g for now. Tempting to upgrade but worried about impact to battery life if phone keeps switching from 5g to 4g

I interpret it as those registered on 4G plans will stay with M1 while those registered on 5G plans will be on Starhub. Being on Starhub eSIM alone is good enough reason for some people to take up the 5G plans.

If MR can get away with this technically, wondering why the other non-M1 network MVNOs are not offering eSIM the same way as MR?

Took bus and train (TEL) and didn’t see any issues using 4G and 5G throughout the journey.

I usually just scroll through Reddit or Instagram or Twitter so I’m not exactly a power user but it seems quite promising. Seems like my republics new 5G plan is the best of all worlds - StarHub connectivity with esim 🎉

Not too sure if we can convert Physical to e-SIM.

For the 4G plan MR don't allow you to moved from Physical to E-sim. I had to port out and come back again LOL. That was done when I moved from Android dual sim slot phone to iPhone 14.

Wah, if that's the case, machiam like SIMBA, have to port in and out to upgrade plan i.e normal to super roam plan.
