Right, I setup before porting was done too.. probably that explains why I am facing similar issue.
I also met with this twice. First time contacted support, they let me rescan esim QR (didn't give a new one) and solved immediately. Second time didn't contact them, just wait (didn't rescan QR cuz not free anymore..). No connectivity at all when on 5G. I had to turn off 5G and use 4G only, then no problem. Waited for a few hours and tried 5G again, back to life. Hope don't happen again.

After switching to GIGA (which operates on StarHub network), my network coverage was poor with only 1-2 bars on average. However, since I switched to MR 5G, I have noticed a slight improvement in coverage with 2-3 bars(5G as for 4G same) . Despite this, I am still able to achieve good 5G speeds for my normal usage.

Hi do you stay in CCK too?

Going to Malaysia for a few days, if i'm not buying the roaming data

But leave my phone 2G?(call+sms) on, as in turn off mobile data

Can i still receive phone calls, in case of emergency, without incurring charges?

Just activated MyRepublic eSIM, unfortunately VoLTE is not working for my Pixel 4a. On Starhub I had no issue with it.

Even though the FAQ says it's not compatible, do you guys think I can signup for the 5G plan with the 5G eSIM to take advantage of the Starhub network and VoLTE?

Is there any difference between the 5G and 4G eSIM even?

If you have access to Malaysia local data / wifi, then download the MR voice app. Turn ON roaming on the app, any calls to your MR number will be pushed through to this app, as long as you have data connections. To note: this app has to be turned ON while still in Singapore.

Weird, don't see the 5G Standard plan on their website.

Signed up in store before noon, SIM was almost instantly activated. At first only 4G, about 1 hour later network was dead for a few min and when it returned, phone connected to 5G. Same night 11pm porting SIM died and ported over by 2am.

After porting seem to camp less on 5G. Will monitor more.

Someone asked this above as well. MR support and FAQ page seem to suggest that you need a 5G SA compatible devices on their list otherwise the 5G SA eSIM won't work even if you only want to use 4G.

Thanks all for your input. Made the leap of faith and still switch to MyRepublic 5G despite CSO said 5G esim not supported with iPhone 12.
Glad to say the esim works but the phone doesn’t get 5G only 4G. Just ported today and hope that the connection is better than M1.

I probably want to sign up for the MYR 5G $17.95 plan too since it is the only cheapest plan that uses StarHub network with esim.

I believe it's because iphone 12 don't support local 5G SA. It's missing from starhub and M1 5G SA list of supported devices too.
