since the MR stores are open now, do you think they will allow signups without the $100 deposit?

i went online and they asked for that. it's like 10times the lite plan i intend to sign up for! WTF

I think someone tried before and still asked 100 deposit. No harm trying lah

I asked them to terminate on 21st June but was told need 3 business days.

Kaoz

Need to pay an extra month cos the plan was supposed to be refreshed on 23rd of the month.

Sent from Asus ASUS_I001DE using GAGT

u need to inform them earlier. in fact, even on the first day of billing cycle u can inform them that u need to terminate. and the line will only be terminated on the last day of billing cycle. u can continue to use the line until then. they allow "delayed" termination while most telco cannot do it.

no different. if u need to pay deposit of $100, no matter u sign up online or at the store. all need to pay also.

actually the deposit is not a big deal. they refund it very fast if u terminate the line also. and u can earn rebate from the $100 deposit if ur credit card gives rebate for online purchase, becos for bill payment or deposit, they are treated as online purchase instead of bill payment for MVNOs.

Nice. Indeed billing cycle starts on 1st.

I asked the salesperson at the store if I signed up today, what will be the start date, he replied me it would be today.

Obviously those salespersons are totally not knowledgeable enough even compare to the fellow forumers here.

MR number porting normally starts 11pm on the day of SIM delivery. Your old Telco SIM will go offline from 11pm.

Your MyRepublic temp number will be replaced with your ported in number sometime at 12.30am.
I rcvd two SMS saying my porting request was not successful.

Then I called up MR hotline and the guy was saying my provider is marked as Geenet. Not sure how it happened. After the call I again rcvd porting initiated msg but there is no msg from CL or MR after that. If the porting is not done by tomorrow, then I will have pay for one month to CL because of this mess up.

One thing for line signed up on 29th. I have my line now (30th) shows the data will be refreshed in 2 days. Does it mean I can use finished the 6GB within these 2 days and again I will get 6GB again?

And even with this the billing will be prorated for June rite?

MyRepublic launches new Core Plan.
$20/MTH

20Gb+30GB, 500mins, 500sms.
Extra 30Gb for first 6 MTHS

Pro plan looks like a marriage between Lite and Pro.

indeed. for extra $10, get 14 more GB (if ignoring the 30GB which is for 6 months only), 200 more talktime and 200 SMSes (maybe these two are unlikely to be useful to most)

looking at the TNC, they have not updated anything on the lite plan promo. looks like today will really be the last day of promo.

Hopefully, they can come up with an extra Lite plan, for seniors like the one introduced by Starhub, M1, Singtel and TPG, there are $5 and $8/mth plans from them.

dun think it is necessary rite? already 4 telcos choices and they are all MNPs. why come out extra plans again. all MVNOs ride on MNPs afterall, the experience on MVNOs cannot be better than MNPs.

Most importantly, MVNOs without physical store support are totally not friendly for seniors. haha.
how do they get support via live chat, email etc. haha. does not make sense.

you are right, but MyRepublic strengths are they have physical stores, unlike other MVNO or MNO Sub-brand.

Seniors can go MR stores if in need

yup, indeed. possible. however, just that i think same to TPG, the awareness from seniors to MR should be still relatively weak. technically, their store should be called a 'booth' instead given the size. haha.

At 11:40 last night CL SIM which I using for data sudenly went dead.

Today morning noticed the MR sim is not having any connection. No incoming calls, outgoing calls no SMS, no data.

But the only saving grace was MR app showing my ported #.

Called up MR tech hotline and only after that sim stated functioning. It went dead once more and came alive after that. Now it looks everything settled.

And I did few restarts of the mobile in between all these. :D

BTW, when I disable mobile data and enable WiFi the symbol changes to phone handle with few waves (sorry don't know how to upload a picture to forum). Have anyone seen it?

I read that the $10 plan uses M1 network nowadays?

That's bad. Prefer Starhub one.
