Uno data increased to 2GB

just received this email today also. is it because they switch UNO from Starhub to M1?

I hope they don't switch for uno

The upgrade is actually porting over to M1 Network and change of plan from $8 "Uno Plan" to "MyRepublic 8"

You need to follow the instruction to change the SIM card profile to "MyRepublic SG".

After switching the profile and reboot your phone, your SIM card now will expose new IMSI number for the MyRepublic-M1 network.

Looking at the bright sight, Uno Plan actually give 1000MB of data.
After the Network migration to M1, it is 2048MB of 4G Data.
1000 Minutes of outgoing calls with VoLTE support.
1000 SMS
Free Caller ID.

I complained about the rubbish speeds MR (M1) is giving and after investigation this is the answer they give me.

I am in the IT line but i have no idea what it means.

In short

If your phone support 150mbps speed u should get 36.3-64.7 while on moving (walking, mrt) and 43.8-92.7 if you are stationary at a spot.

Most phone give 150 - 300 mbps speed. The rest of the table can just ignore.

Thank you for the explanation, i didnt realise 4g got so many types.

Anyways my complaint to MR was 10Mbps speed from my home, which is far from the lower bounds they stated.
I have since started the porting process to Giga to try SH network instead.

On UNO plan, upgraded successfully late morning. Need to reboot the phone to get the VoLTE support.

what ?! 100 sgd?
never have i encounter such policies with big 3 telcos in singapore.

I am assuming this is a physical visit to the shop. I do not see any such deposit on the online purchase of this plan.

I am thinking of visiting the physical shop soon to sign up this coming week, will update the rest.

Ported 2 lines to my name. no such $100 deposits.

Nope, not all telcos impose this, especially on Singaporean subscriber. While all telcos impose deposit requirement on foreigners, MR went further to impose this on some Singaporean subscribers.
our 3 major ones impose tis. u try not payin yr bill lor

The problem is, MR even imposes this requirement on those who have neutral credit record... Ie not owe telco money, but because of new subscriber status.

I think that is onerous and overly demanding. I rather take my business elsewhere who doesn't impose such a stupid deposit policy.

It is unheard of to impose deposit on even Singapore citizens. :s22:

Anyone encountered a delay in receiving OTP sms after porting in? Just ported last night, wondering when I can receive OTPs again hmm

Edit: If you just received our MyRepublic SIM card, do allow 1 - 2 days for your number to be updated in the database for OTP. - via google

Less than one day with MR, fond memories of why I left M1 returned. Feels like a mistake leaving GIGA meh

On the $8 uno plan. Received sms from M1 about porting in MR yesterday. Today phone do not have network. Followed the instruction to update sim card then phone show connected to M1. Mobile data settings APN also changed to M1.

Is that normal?

Received an email about this free 10GB early last month. Something to do with hwm tech award #1 MVNO in singapore?

Thank you for choosing MyRepublic!

To show our appreciation for your support (and your amazing taste) we're giving you 10GB of FREE mobile data this November. This will apply for all your mobile services signed up before 31 March 2020.

Yep, that's 10GB of free data on top of your current MyRepublic mobile plan, no strings attached!

Seriously, you don't have to do anything. The data will be automatically added to your plan once your November billing cycle starts and will last for 30 days.

Enjoy - and thank you for being a part of MyRepublic!

Switched to MyRepublic from CirclesLife as I wanted better speeds.
Didn't realise MR also moved to same M1 provider......

Singtel @100mb, Starhub @70mb and I get <10mb from M1.....

Any lock-in period? May go Giga ASAP.

Just to close my issue for reference.

Moved to Giga and Download improved but Upload decreased lmao.
