After using my MR 5G network for a few days, I have noticed that it rarely switches back to 5G after switching to 4G, unless I enable airplane mode. It is not clear if anyone else is experiencing this issue, especially since my device is not officially supported by MR. However, the same device has no issue with Singtel's 5G network through GOMO and Zero1 plans.

It appears that Singtel has wider 5G coverage, but Starhub's 5G network seems to outperform M1's.

M1 and Starhub are sharing the same 5G infrastructure (aware of this).

However, when I tried using M1's 5G service two months ago, the coverage was quite limited. For some reason, Starhub's 5G service appears to be better than M1's. I'm not sure why that is.

I noticed that M1's 5G download speed (800mbps) was faster than Starhub's 5G (500mbps) in my home. It's interesting to see that even in the same location, the speed can vary based on the same network. Both speed are more than enough for most internet usage.

ya the 5g speed never exceed 650 mbps based on my speed test at various locations.. usually 300-400 or 500 mpbs max

As more users switch to 5G plans, download speeds may decrease due to increased network traffic. It appears that Singtel's download speeds have also decreased recently. However, it's worth noting that factors such as ping latency are often more important than download speed.

for MYR 5G the latency is there .. i can tell the difference if i connect to my xiaomi webcam takes alot longer than i was on singtel 4g speed

Face this occasionally too, or it shows 5G/4G but not loading at all.

Agree w this too, the difference pretty apparent between Singtel and Starhub/M1's 5G.

I have both M1 and StarHub 5G for testing, I noticed the handover to 5G is wayyyyyy slower for StarHub than M1 too.

Either airplane mode or put phone to sleep then can connect for StarHub. Meanwhile for M1, you can do video streaming and latch on 5G midway.

Don't really bother with speedtest.

I tried testing in bugis+ on CL 5G network, it hits over 900mpbs.
MR on the other hand only hit 600mbps

Probably the influx with more customer onboard MyRepublic currently due to better deal and 4G network. 600mbps is still great!

Better 4G network oso depends.
My house area at cck CL always full bar reception while MR is always max at 2, sometimes even 1 bar only.
I not sure where can I feedback to starhub. Contacted MR n they say they feedback to SH that's all

Ah.... so thats a way for a device not officially supported by MR to get 5G?
Can i check what phone are you using?? Just for my curiosity

I am getting 600mbps in cck. Just that reception signal at my house unit is weak
Hi, do you mean just 5G signal is weak? I stay in CCK as well, was using giga 2 years back and StarHub network signal is shockingly bad at home for me, ported out after a week. Currently on Gomo 5G plan now, interested in myRepublic 5G plan, not sure if StarHub network is still as weak in the area.

Even 4G is bad for me at my house unit. As mentioned I only can get max 2 bars reception. So don't even talk about 5G. But once out of my house, walk down a few more blocks, it full bar reception.

But again, depends on which part of cck u stay. Perhaps u are in the same area of CCK as me?

No problem for me for Singtel and M1 (since I use Gomo and CL before)
