N7105 Root and custom rom flashing tutorial (R&D stage)

Seriously, read my posts. I bought my phone from 3rd party shop and still able to get LJ3 update. Just use the app I posted. Anything aside from XSP in that menu would get you the LJ3 update.

If you really want to do the OTA update, download this app and change your CSC to M1/STH/SIN (depending on your carrier)

P.S. You will lose your data/apps doing so, since a factory reset will be performed.

No it's not you doing wrong. The CF AutoRoot method does increase flash counter (CF already said on his forum post on XDA). This changes your device status to "Modified", which of course will result in the inability to get OTA updates.

Only possibility I can think of is to fire up Triangle Away, then factory reset (this changes device status back to normal if you're on stock ROM) to receive the OTA update.

I wipe and reboot and Status have changed to Normal, and still cant get OTA.

After using TriangleAway, it's jumped from 2 to 1 but Binary is showing Offical (iirc). Tried applying TriangleAway second time also same.

Phone is then able to get OTA Update. However, signal now fluctuates between 3G and G (G especially when I'm downloading stuffs or accessing data). Used to get H and 3G in my room though.

Any advice on this jarlyw?

I'm unable to actually ascertain what is the issue, because signal at home for me has always been fluctuating. But nothing out of the ordinary for me, which I also did mention earlier. I'm still getting all the proper icons, and not what people have mentioned (getting only G, but H+/4G speeds).

What telco are you on and what CSC did you change to? No issues for me afaik, Singtel here.

I am on Singtel. However I got my set from mobilehub (XSP). So the cycle goes like this:

XSP -- > Root --> TriangleAway --> Back to Stock (Generic Sg aka M1 firmware) --> Factory Reset (so that Status goes back to Normal) --> Use CSC to change to Singtel (this morning) and updated via OTA

Samsung Galaxy Note 2 Update OTA XXALJ3 Fixes Issues & Adds Swipe & Many Features

Change Log / Updates :

1.The led on charging has been fixed from low dim red to bright red ( but this issue still exists in leaked jelly rom for s3 glad sammy fixed this on the note 2)

2. The battery life has been increased also noticed that Android or android os test in battery usage is missing. After 2 hours I lost about 2 % on battery with 8 % on screen and device idle.
3. Smart rotation for YouTube has been fixed and smart stay seems to pick my face within a sec without the indication on status bar
4. Opening an app from multi view/multi window animation has been improved.. It doesn't feel a bit laggy like before.
5. Not sure about this but on camera if your choosing between front and back there's a new animation icon
6. The web browser tab zooms in instead of side cha cha step
7. The keywords on stock keyboard predictions have been improved and accurate.

Did you lose root? and have to re-root after OTA update?

Q1. I have a problem. not too sure if anyone have it.
i rooted my note 2 and i cant get into stock recovery mode (vol up + home + power). didnt use the CWM yet.

Q2. I am not getting the OTA also, starhub user.
should i flash back the stock fw (STH) via odin? and because would my earlier problem nt allowing me to boot into recovery cause me nt able to get the OTA?

any advice? Thanks in advance


edit: i flash via odin using the STH from on sammobile. i got back the recovery and also able to update to the latest fw after i do a wipe cache and wipe data.
