The test is simply to test your concept like value type and reference type. Got those need calculation and sql questions.

Nucleus is better than direct hire from NCS cause Nucleus will help you fight for your promotion and your rating (especially if your PM is those very niao or you suay suay in indian village). Basically you are like mercenaries going to project, usually one two years kind, some shorter term like a few weeks. Project really see heng suay one, you can go to new project with great learning curve with all thei ccd and cloud, or go those java applet dinosaur age.

Salary wise now got pay freeze but they will adjust your pay in Dec/Jan to peg with industry standard. If you local U com sci one, should have better options outside but now covid not sure how good the market is. For me is nus gdipsa so come in farm a few years experience and my new project now quite nice.

OT also heng suay, my friend everyday 6pm and others weekday OT and weekend comeback.

Has anyone received any further news after taking the quiz? Will they contact us to let us know if we are unsuccessful?

Was the interview was with NCS or NUS-ISS?
Have you done any side projects in programming like on GitHub, or at least watched some courses on relevant programming languages or software tools (Python, R, Java, SQL, Tableau)?

Was referring to NCS, for my gdipsa test 5th May, interview 18th May, result like 1 month later..

For gdipsa course preparation, I just did online courses on and off, but not really useful since at that point of time I don't really know what goes into an application.

I guess if you are starting, you can just look at value type, reference type, for loops, object oriented programming. My batch was done mostly in .Net, android(java not sure if they doing kotlin nowadays) and java but I believe got some python now. You can take pluralsight trial for 10 days, maybe try microsoft dev essential and see if it has free 1mth plural trial (which ran out last I tried 2 mths ago), felt it had the best resources available and some good pathway to guide where you should start and moved on.

Moving ahead, you can try webforms, .net mvc (they did the course mostly in window forms and webforms for my batch, but mvc is preferred and webforms support by microsoft is like unknown), java spring. SQL must know but don't need too much, just need to know until join and subquery depth, cursor good to know but don't need for now. You can take SQL and choose one of the three language (java, C#, python), don't bother looking at three languages at once.

I will say skip R and Tableau unless you are into data analytics and business intelligence, you can learn them later as well.

Thanks for sharing your experience and tips! I didn't apply for the gdipsa, but will consider it!
