Interesting! I'm using Win7 OEM-SLP which I think I could upgrade to Win10? By any chance do you know if I could transfer that?

So I bring the 2nd hand gpu along and get them to assemble?
Those GPU usually have like three years warranty right? I went to see there's those bought in april and reselling.

Is it wise to reuse any parts from my old rig? It's 6years++ old though. Or better to be safe and just get everything new.
MSI Z97 Gaming 5
Intel Core i7-4790K CPU
Gskills Ripjaws 1866mhz 2x4gb kit
WD Purple 2tb
Samsung EVO 250gb
MSI r9 290 4gb Twin Frozr
Superflower HX600 600w 80+ gold semi modular
Corsair H100i Water Cooling

Yeah just pass them the GPU or other components you want to reuse. You can reuse your SSD, HDD, PSU. I'd get a new cooler just in case. 5 years is a long time for an AIO.

OEM keys can't be transfered. You can however just use windows 10 without licence. 100% legal but got watermark and can't change wallpaper. Can just buy wallpaper engine in steam to circumvent that.

I see I see!

Yeah that's one of the point I thought of getting from aftershock, else now like I'm suspecting it could be my PSU but I'm not confident in switching one myself.

Yeah! Those sounds like a good deal, perhaps I'll see if 12.12 got any better one anot

TBH, your system still can be used for a little longer if you are OK with the current performance. Changing PSU is not too hard and if you get a solid one (I'm a Seasonic fanboy) they come with 10 or even 12 year warranties.

Roger that! Most computer parts lifespan is around that? So probably not wise to re-use any from my old rig? (6years++)

Also, like one of the other bro shared
https://www.aftershockpc.com/welcome/rts_details/3103
What do you think of this? Little over planned budget or would the specs be overkill?

Well, depends on wat gadget u have in ur old rig. I am not sure wat spec is ur old rig.

Lifespan for PC varies by parts. Most processors and board can last long if never overclocked. Same go for GPU. U can see my rig spec on the right. I just upgraded my GPU, PSU n casing and it runs well too.

I wun say the new AfterShock PC is top notch. It can serve its purpose well for u. U can compare the price with DIY PC and decide again.

Get a good GPU card eg. RTX 2070 or 2080. Change ur HDD to SSD. Upgrade ur RAM to 32Gb. I tik u still can live with it for another 5yrs. If power not enuff, get a 700W above PSU.

I planning to use mine for another 5yrs too.....

Ahh, okay will try that! See if I can find any of those GPU from carousell. Like could I just bring my old rig to them and tell them eg. I wanna reuse my SSD/HDD/PSU and the GPU? However that means I'd only be buying like case, mbo, cooler etc from them. Would they allow this?

Oh cool! Yeah I guess I'll just use the windows 10 without license! Hopefully they don't change it in the future. Wallpaper no biggie.

Yeah I think it's still working well for me apart from the shut down issue, not sure what the problem is perhaps PSU or overheat or something. Hopefully after thermalpaste it'll go away, else I'll just follow what you said and get a good PSU and perhaps if I do get a new rig I could reuse that PSU.

Those warranties if let's say the PSU dies, do I need to ship them overseas? or like there's a local address to?

Coooooool that's good news to me, damn. That'll be super ideal.

- 700W above PSU
- RTX 2070/2080
- Ram to 32GB

I think I'm fine with the 250gb ssd I have, I usually store all the nonsense on the HDD and games I play often on the SSD (only play that few games)

Thanks everyone! You've all been super helpful, I'll keep all these advice in mind. After what y'all said I'll probably upgrade my old rig and if it die on me then I'll re-use the part to build a new one! Appreciate the help a lot :s12:

I don't know, depends on the shop whether they let you build partial system or not. My friend last time took out the parts he want to reuse and put them in a plastic bag and give to them when he purchasing. He bought casing, cpu, mobo, ram and gpu. Reused psu, ssd,hdd and cpu cooler.

I would disagree with 32gb RAM even though it's not that expensive now. Most people will only utilise 16gb even when gaming intensively.

PSU get locally more convenient most of the time.
