Need advice for building a computer

Hey guys,

Thank you for reading, any help would be great.

I'm looking to build a gaming computer for the first time, but I don't have much knowledge and time to do the necessary research. Thinking to dump a shopping list at a sim lim shop (please recommend!) and get them to assemble one for me.

• Budget ~$1500-2000, include monitor and mouse
• Looking to play Dota 2 on full specs, would be good if I can play other high end games on decent settings
• Playing Football Manager on full database loaded, full graphics settings
• Will be situated in a non air-conditioned room, not sure if that requires a stronger cooling system

Any help would be lovely, will be very grateful

What other high end games do you want to play?
1.5k to 2k is too much budget if you just want to play Dota 2.

I only play Dota 2 now, but it would be good if the rig can handle other games like Titanfall, crysis, COD series at a decent setting if I ever wanna try them.

I don't mind paying 100-200 more for a better GPU, so I kinda came up with the following after scouring around the forum. I'm quite concerned about overheating issue, as mentioned the rig would be in a non-airconditioned room.

You can also dump the list to fortran and see if he can get the parts you want with the same price. If he can, he can assemble and deliver everything to your doorstep.

Was advised by the nice gentlemen at gs shop (#02-32) to swap out the CPU and MB for 4590 + H97 Killer. I was also told that R9-280X seems to have a lot trouble with heat issues, and that GTX 770 would be a better alternative.

ASRock B85 killer and FSP Aurum S 500W are out of stock at tradepac and PCthemes as well.

Looking to find better alternatives CPU + MB, GPU and PSU. Buget $1500~1700. Any suggestions? Thanks for all the help so far.

But it's a bit over my budget, still need a monitor, would be good if i keep to 1500-1700... not really a hardcore gamer, currently playing dota2 only but looking to try the latest games at decent settings.

But no harm letting him take a look at your list and see if he can do something for you, especially if you want it easy and need someone to assemble for you.

IMO Core i5-45xx not as VOM as Core i5-44xx as they only offer slightly higher turbo frequencies but at $12-15 premium. Will go with MSI B85 GAMING anytime over H97 if you don't require M.2 support.

R9-280X do draw more power than competing GTX 770, but heat issue is still manageable with dual fan over PowerColor's solution. GTX 770 comprises a hefty premium over similar R9-280X which dismiss it from recommendations.

Seasonic S12G 550W will be your next best alternative for $15 more.
