Prism X34 not good? Do you have any recommendations for widescreen display then?

Actually what’s your definition of Wide screen? If you are referring to 16:9 aspect ratio then you have got quite a number of options. I’d recommend Acer Predator XB271HU for the best value for its specs, 1440p 165hz OC with g sync at 800++.

If you are referring to ultrawides, which is 21:9 aspect ratio, your best bet will be Acer Predator X34P which is 1440p 120hz OC with g sync at less than $1k at times.

I have never used Prism before but you may refer to the Prism thread to scan through the comments. My cousin did went down to their store and commented that it’s quality is lacking, hence the lower price compared to the other more established brands.

All except monitor, RGB accessories and RAM can get from PC Themes but costs about $30-40 more in total. Monitor you can just hoot right away tomorrow morning since you don't really need to lug it together with your PC. I just realise Acer official store on Lazada got $28 off min $550 spending shop coupon. Can further use to offset the monitor price!

I selected that monitor for you mainly factoring in your desire to play games and also Netflix. 1440p is neither here nor there. Hence 4K is the way to go. With IPS panel and G-Sync to pair up with your RTX 2070 Super, you certainly enjoy the best of both worlds.

Can't comment on monitor, a lot of monitors on market and sg isn't exactly a place where you can get latest monitor easily either. It is better to source oversea if you looking at high end monitor unless there is a awesome local deals which hopefully someone do keep track and can advise on that.

Anyway, if you are using it for gaming, I would suggest to up your ssd to 1tb.
Games are becoming more space hungry.

If you not oc-ing, no reason to spend much on cooler. I would recommend diverting much of those money on other parts.

Dun think I will be getting RGB accessories Do not like too flashy

So how do I download Windows 10 into the new desktop without an OS?
So I just need to buy a digital key to activate?
How come the price difference between a digital key (S$6) vs original windows 10 (S$100 plus) is so much? Digital key not considered original?

Download ISO from Microsoft and 'burn' the image into a thumbrive. This thumbdrive basically becomes a 'DVD drive with Windows 10 DVD inside'. Run through installation as usual.

Also, do note this is an ultra widescreen format. 34" on 21:9 ratio is only equivalent to 27.3" conventional widescreen 16:9 format (same height just elongated). And it is more pricey too. Up to you to consider between 4K/60Hz vs QHD/120Hz...

RAM is mainly for RGB bling bling. Can scale down to normal cheap black Corsair Vengenace if you don't want RGB.

Cooler is for both RGB bling bling and quietness + option to OC in the future. If you feel those are superfluous, can just stick to stock bundled Wraith Stealth cooler.

Very insightful comments... I think ultimately we need to know what kind of games TS are playing.. if he plays more fps then definitely XB271HU for its high refresh rate + g sync. The 1440p IPS screen should look reasonably well at that distance as well.

Its a mixed bag. But I'd say RTX 2070 Super has performance advantage over RX 5700 XT in more games. And it's Ray Tracing support and noticeably quieter load noise gives it an edge over RX 5700 XT. Moreover, current price range is rather on the premium side. Buyers may be more willing to topup for these advantages.

Haha exactly...your recommended setup should bring most games to close to monitor spec hence the deciding factor is the monitor spec and not the cpu itself... 4k 60hz for eye candy AAA games or 1440p 165hz for fps... so it’s still ultimately down to the games TS plays more often.
