Need advice on Taichung

If i were to engaged a driver for a full day tour. What places can i consider ? any1 can give some advice ??

then at nite u can go fengjia nm urself
other places include SML, gao mei, yizhong, confucuis place ...

I came across this when i was looking at my fj accom last night. I google the address, and i realised my previous trip "minsu" also located in the same building lol. But i see ka zhua along the corridor before, dont think i want to go back to that building

The cleaniness of this minsu complex depends very much on the managing agent, so lucky mine was a "she", all her rooms were cleaner and smell nicer than those rooms managed by male agents.

The reason i know this becos the original room the aircon stop working halfway and there is cigarette smell in the room, then the male agent that look after the first room is not around, so this female agent switch me to one of her rooms.

If given a choice i would not mind paying more for better hotel or minsu without the awful cigarette smell and unwelcome insects.

For Taichung, is the public transport (incl taxis) good enough to not require a driver? Mainly to go places like XinShe, KongMiao and YiZhong from FengJia NM area.

I think you will need a driver for Xinshe.

Kong miao n yizhong take bus or taxi can... xinshe public will be very troublesome. .n need to walk a lot

Gaomei wetlands super far. need take two buses there. The place is nice to see. But bus timing limited, so maybe abt one hour then have one bus.
travelling is 2 hours one way .

can also go feng jia nm, taiwan largest nm . many nice food to eat.
if u stay taichung railway station that area, can cab there abt 25min , 220 ntd.
take bus is abt 30+ stops or more, abt 1 hour ...

Gaomei need to take train or bus to qingshui train station then take cab over, I took cab from rainbow village over to gaomei, NT800. Took a cab from gaomei to Qingshui train station for NT300 then took bus 168 to chaoma area for 50mins then walk 15mins to fengjia, that NT300 save me at least an hour from waiting for bus.

Thanks for the info, looks like I can't avoid a driver for TC then, at least for Xinshe.

Taichung I think some of the bus are free but the required waiting time is around 20-50 minutes.

Now is almost end of lavender season in Taiwan, might be a wasted trip to 薰衣草森林. Lavender is a winter flower if you dont know.

I went to 中社花市 on a hot day 28 degree C... hate the sun so didn't walk around but if you like flowers, plenty to see.

They sell pure honey at the 中社花市, they can make it into a cooling honey water for you at NT$100 a 500ml bottle. Honey can soothe cough and sore throat.

For Taichung, this are the usual destinations 中社花市 > 梧棲漁港 > 風車大道 > 高美濕地 > 一中街商圈 > 逢甲夜市

Yep my gf likes flowers that's why we're going 中社花市. Not a honey lover but will try that cooling honey water and get some honey back for my parents!

Plan a romantic panic with wine and sandwiches. Remember to get ready 暖暖包，warm wears (prolong period in cold weather) and goretex jacket and shoe (in case rain).

I was there 2 days back, raining non stop spoil the trip. Its a nice place with the flowers. Lavender is still plentiful when I was there. The honey there taste great, never taste any honey so nice before so bought 3 bottles back.

I went for the BBQ buffet as well to get free entry to the garden.
