No matter which route TS choose now, he/she still has to go the long route. It is the same route that TS has to go tru also if he/she is cleared of depression such that TS have to take ITE higher cert, then proceed to poly diploma, and lastly take bachelor degree in one of the local university.

I'm don't know much about social work so someone please correct me if I'm wrong. I'm assuming you require an accredited degree for professional recognition and that most are government jobs (MSF/NCSS) so you probably need a local cert.

Do you think you can retake your O levels? You can probably try for NYP social work. There's also CET diplomas for Early Childhood at NP and TP (need 5 O level passes & 1 year of work experience). I believe the CET diploma grants you entry to SUSS part time courses as well.

Please also do your own research too instead of just blindly following my advice.

From my understanding, industry standard is they don't take you in due to your illness ad school may regulated it by asking you to attend medical checkup during their application. No harm trying to apply for these courses but I can tell you that you forget about early childhood and social work.

When I study psychology module, you needs to memorize a lot of things and you must be good in English cause words have similar meaning but it does not mean the same thing! So will if affect your illness more?

Not sure about hospitality and tourism, but for business, you will needs math for module like statistics, financial and accounting. So I guess it is a no for both SIM and PSB?

From what the staff from SIMGE told me is IFP duration is 1 year .

I’m thinking to take that but my concern was maths :\ people told me it’s not easy but some told me if I have the will , I will make it .

The dead line is getting near and I’m just so stressed up .

I wanted to retake but my teachers told me not to because I’m at disadvantage . They told me private candidates are more of disadvantage ..

just do it. maths can pass one when got put in effort. just see solution and remember how to do can liao.

i was bad in math in sec sch but excel in engineering maths in dip & deg. find e-maths harder and i no amath background somemore lol. dont be afraid. just go for it. biz maths is not that scary anyway

I passed my maths for my GCE N level but not for O levels because it’s harder. Did try to put in effort but still fail

believe it or not, maths in sec sch is definitely harder i have a few friends sucks in sec sch maths as well but all doing well afterwards in biz/engineering. the maths is just different one. more importantly is make friends with people and be friendly with everyone. will be very helpful. make life alot easier. dont be solo ranger, will die a slow and painful death one. friends can help each other, share ans etc. :s13:

Thank you for this. Yeah I should get rid of my negative mindset that I can’t do maths. I honestly want to prove to my family & teachers I can do it because as of now no one believes in me

Don't worry abt having depression. I was suffering from depression and anxiety and coping well with medication. End up graduated with a second upper honours with simge. Just do it.

Yes, IFP is a foundation programme from the UK and after completion with satisfactory grade, you will proceed on to the standard entry route for the UOL bachelor programme.

However, if you opt for your Diploma route to Bachelor route, you have to complete the management foundation studies which i think it's 6 months? After which, you will proceed to complete the diploma from SIM which is 1.5 years. Lastly, you will proceed on to your bachelor(3 years). [ I do not know if you will receive advanced standing from your diploma to shorten your degree duration, it's best to check with SIM directly.]

If both paths lead to the same duration, then the onus is on you to make the decision.

my friend just did sim dip 1.5yrs and simge 2years.

I am planning to do IFP as the management foundation studies only lead to 4 diplomas - Diploma in Banking and Finance , Diploma in Accounting , Diploma in management studies , Diploma in International Business :\ I cant qualify for Diploma in B&F and Accounting cause O level math I failed.. I’m left with IB and MS :\ so not much a choice . I ask them if I could go Bachelor of Arts after Dip in IB or MS but they told me cannot as my dip not related to any of it
