Hi Guys!
Need help on getting a new PC.
My current CPU is with me for almost 7 years, the monitor die and instead of getting a new monitor, i intend to get a new CPU + Monitor.
Went down to sim lim square and was shocked to see the huge jump of costing on VGA. (Bad timing for me) Was quote quite a big pricing when i was looking for a spec that for 3d modeling/rendering. I was even quoted that my requirement needs at least 2.5K (CPU along)
I guess they might be mistaken when i ask for 3d modeling/rendering - more toward Interior still shot and those simple modeling - not complex type. And No animation is rendered/required as well. Also, think if gaming-wise - maybe Division 2 / For Honor high setting will be good enough as I don't really play many games.
I manage to ask one of the stores and gave me reasonable pricing. (here's the items that he quote)
1. AMD i5 - 3600X = $299
2. ASUS Prime B50M-A WIFI = $239
3. Corsair Vengeance LPX 3600 Series - 32G = $329
4. Quadro P600 2GB VGA Card = $329
5. Silverstone 600W = $79
6. Simple Case = $70
7. Win 10 Home = $149
8. Crucial P2 Nvme M.2 - 500G = $120
9. HDD - 2TB = $109
Total = $1720
As the technology changes so much - can I check the following questions with the people here.
1. which board + CPU is suitable for these types of works? Intel LGA 1151 / Intel LGA 1200 / AMD AM4 (Store quote me this)
2. Does Quadro still work great for Modeling/rendering? If i am playing the game - will there be any issue on it? As in the past i remember there will be issue if we are using Quadro to play game? or i should stick with those gaming VGA that work well in both rendering/gaming. (Any recommendation will be good)
3. If the Board + CPU is good enough - anyone can recommend me a better MB? I look through the online review and mentioned that the disadvantage of this board is way hotter compare to other MB. My CPU will be placed underneath my table and it's non-aircon. (living room) The good thing is that i doubt i am going to turn 24hrs running render. As my render setting at most is 3hr? (The current works with my current CPU - the longest is only half-hour.
4. Monitor wise - my monitor not those high-end ones, the pricing should be within 200~300ish. It might be even lower if my budget is too tight. (those cheap ones like 159)
My Budget is around $1.3K ~ $1.5k (CPU) and notices that the only thing i can cut is the 32GB since 16GB will be more than enough for me for now. If I need to upgrade - it will be at a later stage.
Appreciate anyone can advise me if there's anything that I can cut or should take note of. Intend to have this CPU to last at least 4~5 years?
TIA Guys.
One more thing guys, I was checking with my company engaged IT guy, was told that base on the current office CPU spec that I am working on - the spec he recommends me is the 2 mentioned below. Was told that it's more than enough for my work. so hopefully with this - it might give you an idea where my actual work spec requirement.
1. LENOVO IDEACENTRE 510S-07ICB PC ($1,100++)
2. ASUS Expert Center D6414SFF-I59400005T ($899++)
