Hi i would like to build a budget "high end" pc but i'm not very good with building a pc. My budget is around $2000 but i can increase it if needed.

The specs: (based on pc themes price list 18 july)

CPU + MOBO GIGABYTE Z97X - UD5H BK i7 4790K $772
RAM G. SKILL PC 12800/1600MHZ DDR3 CL11 BALUE RAM 8GB $80
HDD TOSHIBA 1TB 7200RPM 2YRS $66
GPU MSI GTX 970 4GB Gaming O.C. $579
CASE+PSU COOLER MASTER 311 RED USB3.0 ATX CASING + COOLER MASTER THUNDER 500W POWER SUPPLY $110
DVD DRIVE SAMSUNG 24X DVD-RW SATA BOX $25

i do not know if i need a cpu cooler or case fan...

also i don't know what headphone, keyboard, mouse and mousepad to get because i saw a lot of people saying razer is not worth it... although i like the razer black widow chroma because you can sync the LEDs with music haha

and lastly what monitor would you guys recommend me? 1080p is fine. thanks in advance

also im not going for a ssd, i will have one at the end of the year

You can easily save $300 by ditching your so-called "high-end" motherboard, it doesn't make a difference versus a cheapo Biostar board, especially for gaming

Ditch the 4790k, get entry i5 4460. and get a cheaper mobo.

Your casing and PSU suck, can get something way more reliable. PSU perhaps get superflower leadex/fsp aurum. If not Corsair RM, Seasonic M12II or Seasonic S12G. Fractal design define R5 is the case of the year. Unless you want something cheaper, N600.

Do you need DVD drive? If don't need also can take out.

Gtx 970 at that price is abit expensive;wait for discounts during Lazada/rakuten.

I think you can do better with money above IMO :o

Now with no theme in consideration
i5-4460 + MSI H81M-E35 @308
(A decent quad core CPU for gaming, and an entry level motherboard since most people do not need the features provided by the motherboard. This motherboard has 2 more USB 3.0 ports compared to other entry level mobos)
Crucial DDR3-1600 2x4GB @64
(8GB is enough for gaming IMO)
1TB WD Blue @71
Samsung DVD Drive @21
Palit GTX980Ti Super Jetstream/Sapphire R9 Fury X @999
(either one is fine IMO)
Superflower Leadex Gold 620W @149
Fractal Define R5 @159
Total 1771

For headphones I would spend on the mic and headphone separately. An Audio Technica M50x with a ModMic works fine for gaming.

For keyboard and mouse I am not an expert and I don't use expensive gaming stuff either (I just use a simple mechanical Rosewill and a cheap Kinzu V2).

Gsync is gonna be expensive, consider whether you actually need it or not.

SSD is good to add now, they are very affordable now and there is little reason not to have one.

I didn't know what psu and case to get so I saw the combo at pc themes price list and thought that was fine so I got that.

I do need a optical drive just in case I need to install some stuff

Also heard that Lazada is getting more expensive?

Also i chose a i7 because I thought those high spec games needed i7, was afraid i5 will become a bottleneck to the system

Is palit reliable? I don't wanna waste money and time... Also I saw g sync can make your frames higher and stuff like that

I thought of getting the Samsung ssd pro 850 1tb and a wd 1tb black but my budget isn't allowing it

i5 is definitely more than sufficient to play current game. Is more on gpu rather than processor nowadays.

If you're talking about palit, I saw that they are not bad just that they have some problems with their fan/coolers? And if about g sync then it's mixed...

Oh ok but what about the speed? Is 3.2ghz enough for high spec games nowadays?

Yes, it will be good enough. And take that money you saved to get a SSD, it will make you computer whole lot faster, games will also load faster as well.

Palit is definitely a cheaper alternative because of the branding. You decide if you want to pay hundreds more for other cooling solution. In fact, may even OC as well as other solutions. Card is also slightly thicker iirc.

Gsync does not magically adds frame rate. It is a sync technology in alternative to vsync where dropping below certain framerates result in stuttering. G sync removes stuttering and tearing, making game play smoother. Thus, more responsive.

Palit is fine, I am using a Palit myself. In fact most brands are more or less the same to me... Graphics card is really see heng suay one. The more expensive ones have better cooling solutions, but the cheaper options should be good enough for most users.

Let me explain Gsync. Basically it is a technology to force your screen to run the the framerate the graphics card is churning out for smoother looking framerates. Good technology, however it is at a really expensive price right now.

A 850 EVO is more value for money right now than the 850 PRO, and for most users they don't need the features of the 850 Pro.

I only knew Palit bought over Gainward which produced their "golden sample" cards which were highly sought after in the past for their high overclocks. You wont see much reviews on youtube cos mostly are ang mo reviewers and Palit mostly distributes in Asia
