Need help in ICT deferment

hi... i'm also facing the same prob.

reservist from 31st jan to 14 feb.
i'm a fulltime student in SIM (that isnt counted vs. nus/ntu/smu)
i also signed up for NCAP course in Feb + paid already!
school fees also paid already & i'm suppose to miss 2 weeks of lessons?

The answer is yes.

Yday i spoke to the AO she say cannot defer must take time off??
i'm going down to see my CO today but
if get rejected what are my available options? see MP?
sometimes seeing MP also may not help rite?

MP do not have power & what they can do is to ask their PA to write an letter to recommend you about what you want & the reason you give. So it is useless.

the NCAP also can't get refund (need 2weeks in advance)
that one if no choice nvm can sign up again but 2 weeks of lectures!?

Can you defer your studies without any cost?

This coming ICT, I will be missing 3 weeks lessons.

I may not get time off due to night training at outfield.

I am thinking of defering my lessons.

if i have valid reasons such as school & NCAP classes (with all the supporting documents)
will i get time off my ICT if suay suay i have to turn up?

any advice wld be appreciated!

It can increase your chances for time off but if there is any night training & etc, you will have 0 % of chance for getting time off cause night training is importance & willl 100% affect your ICT performance that result you to fail your ICT.

By the way, SIM got 40% subsidi from govt, but is UNI-SIM registered with MOE? I suppose so?

I mean only UNI-SIM, not global-sim like Uol or uow. Just uni-sim.

I suspect education institutions other than NUS, NTU and SMU can also participate in this scheme if they apply similar restriction to their offering such that there are no academic programmes during specific periods in the year so that their students can attend ICT.

Arrangement with Institutes of Higher Learning (IHL)

MINDEF has an existing arrangement with the three local universities (i.e. NUS, NTU and SMU) for undergraduate NSmen who are studying in these universities to be called up for ICT only during specific parts of the university vacations. In turn, the universities will ensure that no academic programmes are scheduled during this period. This arrangement is applicable to undergraduate NSmen in their first three years of studies.

Thanks everyone. I am taking a degree in Interactive Animation which means I'll have daily/weekly assignments which I have to submit. Even if they allow me time off to attend my tutorials and lectures, I don't think they'll allow me to take my Macbook in to do my assignments which is why I am appllying for deferment.

I will call my unit to speak with my CO.

BTW, my experience was when I was doing my distance learning degree. Prior to that I was at SHATEC. Full-time course for 3 years. They allowed me to disrupt for the first two years. 3rd year they said no as it was industrial attachment not studying. So its not entirely true that they don't entertain requests from private schools.

Just go get yourself a 3 Day MC on the first day of ICT.
Dun book in. Whatsapp your unit group chat your MC.
3 Days later go take another 3 day MC.

You will auto outpro.
