need help on new installation

now my windows explorer is not working.. coz i am going to upgrade too. mostly getting a SSD..
if i would put the ssd as main a new windows installation.
set my hdd as 2nd.. coz i dont wan to lose all the stuff in there..
would it work?
anything i should look for when i install new a on a ssd?
coz i will be getting new mb cpu ram gfx psu case..

1.unplug ur current hdd, in case u accidentally format/delete ur hdd
2.plug in ur new ssd
3.install os on ssd
4.plug in ur hdd after os is installed

tata. no data will be missing

go download ssd firmware from their respective brand website
disable disk defragment and system restore

disable disk defragmenter
start > type in search > click "disk defragmenter"
turn off schedule

disable system restore
start > click "computer" > right click empty space
click "properties" > click "system protection" > configure Csystem)

disable computer to sleep
start > type in search > click "power option"
click "change advance setting" > set sleep to never > set hdd to never

disable hibernation
start > search "cmd" > type powercfg -h off

your case should come with screws for you to screw in the ssd to the hdd cage

system restore eat up alot space
ssd dont need defragment even though window 8 can optimized trim but unnecessary

Defragging also shortens the NAND flash's lifespan too.

Pardon my noobness... how come need to disable computer to sleep and disable hibernation? Will it affect the lifespan of the SSD? Thanks!

Hibernation need space on ur SSD.

Sleep erm... for HDD users who wants to have a "fast boot up". Sleep uses less power to keep the system at a very inactive mode hence when you wake up the system, it is faster.

SSD just Shut down!
