List down the parts in your old desktop or list down the brand and model of desktop if using OEM.

I not at hm now, only remember it from acer,
The type which is small small one desktop.

I think most of the parts can't be use.
Only will be using back the drive put disc one,
Using back the monitor, keyboard mouse.
So thinking see can use back the window can save 100+
Ssd do I need for diablo3
Read some ppl said it only load map faster not much different on game play,
So if don't need can save around 100
:)

1) Alamak, OEM Windows license very hard to use in new rig as you need to call Microsoft to activate the license as the old OEM license is tied to the old motherboard and rumours has it that Microsoft currently is very strict about such things and chances are high that Microsoft will not let you use the license in the new rig.

2) Even though cannot reuse the license, can reuse:
-HDD
-DVD-Writer
-RAM

3) SSD helps you to reduce boot times and loading times which will help make your system more responsive, so you do not enjoy the effects only on games but on the whole system if you install the OS on the SSD itself. Of course, if your budget is tight, then an SSD is optional.

DVD writer and ram should be able reuse. Thanks for this.

For the SSD,
If with SSD than I can only choose an i3 Liao.

Sorry har i3 and i5 different a lot anot har?
Thinking

I5 4460 (now maybe i3 Liao)
GPU Palit 750ti oc( maybe any other more value for money?
HDD wd 1tb blue

Wait for Mon, lazada.sg gt 10% mastercard promo off palit 660, $189 before discount. Better than 750ti.

$1k is more than enough to get a decent com.

CPU+ Mobo: ASROCK H81M-HDS + i5 4460 (319)
GPU: PALIT GTX 660 (189) (lazada.com)
SSD: OCZ VERTEX 460 120GB (99)
HDD: WESTERN.D 1TB BLUE (72)
PSU: SEASONIC S12II-Non MODULAR 520W (85)
Case: FRACTAL DESIGN ARC MIDI R2 CASE (139)
OS: WINDOWS 7 HOME PREM (120)

Total cost: $1023

Unless otherwise stated, buy at PC Themes, #04-15, and ask for discounts. DIY yourself. If you can't into DIY, go to PC Care & Solution at #02-32 and ask Nigel to help you assemble for a fee.

Notes:

1) i3 is a dual-core CPU with hyperthreading and an i5 is a quad core CPU with no hyperthreading. Games generally do not benefit much from hyperthreading and hence an i5 would be a better choice.

2) If this build is still too expensive for you, can consider the Bitfenix Comrade for $59.

3) Buy a Palit GTX 660 for $189 at Lazada and get a more powerful GPU at a cheaper price.

4) How much RAM does your old system has? May need to buy 1X 4GB ValueRAM at $50+ if you only have 4GB RAM in your old system.

Oh my ram if I not wrong, it only 2x2gb.
Able to run a 2gb +4gb?
Or think I choose another cheaper case and get a set of new ram also.

I wun really recommend OCZ ssd... At least get plextor m6s 128gb at $105. More reliable.

U can consider Sharkoon BD28. If u can bargain, do it at Tradepac. And then bring all items to #02-32 to ask Nigel to help u assemble for some kopi $$$.

1 more way to save $$$ is to climb mountain for OS...

Ok sorry for that mistake. This is only 2nd time I post about this. Here and there sounds like I am doing it on a regular basis. Anyway, my intention is to help out when ppl on a tight budget and can consider 2nd hand items. I don't post my items on all posts that need recommendations for parts.

Apologies and it will not happen again

Pay $30+ more for a MSI B85-G41 PC Mate and jam all your RAM in there.

I don't know, isn't the Vertex 460 improved to the point that it is reasonably reliable? I don't think that there are much complaints about OCZ's newer SSDs anymore.

If I change to a cheaper casing, should be able to change the SSD.

It would still be better to go with a brand that is using a reputable controller, NAND, etc.. Like plextor, crucial, samsung, intel.

Beside, its less than $10 more for the plextor, i would choose that, imo. If its over budget, at least can go to TP to bargain down to his budget.

Sharkoon bd28 is a case.. Can google about it.

Oh ok.. Thanks.
Saw them.. It look nice.
This only 2fan vs arc midi 3fan (hope I get this right)
Will that make a big different on the cooling part?
